Hello everyone!

Ready for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown? 

This week we have a sketch challenge for you (see below)

As for the last sketch, I used again an age-old 3-D image for my card.

So that it does not look so old-fashioned, I have left the card very bright. To stick with the sketch, I simply attached gold printed vellum on the card that I had previously sprinkled with black ink. 

The matching sentiment I found in my sticker box. :)  Hope you like my oldie!

Advice from a tree...

Hi everyone!

We have a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating

Love A Tree Day

Trees are a vital part of nature. They provide more than just beautiful landscapes and a shady canopy on a sunny day. They play a significant role in reducing erosion and moderating the climate as well as give us oxygen. Large quantities of carbon are stored in their tissues as trees remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 

They provide habitat and structure for strong ecosystems.

This is a good day to plant a new tree or 

spend some time enjoying the beauty of the trees that are all around you. (Source)

I stamped the tree on a background of green and blue splatters, trimmed it and added a piece of torn paper to the bottom edge. I lightly traced the placement of the image on the card and wrote the tree's advice along the lines. Then I erased the lines and adhered the image with foam pads.

Hi everyone!

Tuesday is Katzelkraft day here on my blog. 

This week I decided to make another tag - I'm liking them more and more....

I again used a background made with the gel press (red and pink area). This one didn't print very well, but for my tag it was just what I wanted. So I could color the upper part of the tag with different liquid inks and Distress Oxides - as you can see I got carried away with the colors.... 

I stamped the images and text in black and splattered some white ink on the tag. The flowers do not have stems, so I adapted those from another stamp.

The thistle and sentiment in the upper left are from older Katzelkraft stamp sets that are no longer available.

Girls just wanna have fun...

Hi everyone!

It's the second half on the Dream Factory and I want to remind you of our current challenge.

This month we have two movies...

Two is a Family and/or Bad Moms

The topics are:

Father's Day and/or Mother's Day - or simply masculine and/or feminine

My first card was for Father's Day, for the second one I chose the Mother's Day/feminine theme. 

To dress the girls I used the paper piecing technique (patterned paper for the one on the left and a scrap of homemade background for the girl on the right) - everything else I colored with watercolors. 

I backed the girls with pink cardstock and glued them to patterned paper, which I then adhered to a blank card.

Katzelkraft - La nature est une symphonie

Hi everyone!

It's Katzelkraft day. This week I made a tag, using various stamp sets from Katzelkraft. 

The tag is cut out from one of my gel press experiments. 

I stamped the lace border on an different gel print, cut it out and adhered it to the bottom of the tag.  

Just above it, I stamped a small doodled border and highlighted it with white dots.  

I stamped the bird, butterfly, lily of the valley and text on the tag. Stamped the bird, butterfly and lily of the valley again on card stock. Colored the bird and butterfly with shiny metallic watercolor paints and the lily of the valley with alcohol markers. 

I cut out parts of the lily of the valley bouquet and adhered them to the already stamped flowers. Cut out the bird and butterfly and glued them on as well. Finally, I tied a piece of raffia to the tag.

Today starts a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

We close out the month with a technique challenge...

Emboss Resist

I stamped the beautiful snowflakes from Katzelkraft with Versamark on Bristol paper and heat embossed them with white embossing powder. I then sponged the sheet with Peacock Feather (Distress Oxide) and punched out a large snowflake (Stampin'Up) which I backed with silver glitter paper. 

The tiny snowflakes, as well as the sentiment are from Stampin'Up too. 

Let's have a closer look at the punched out snowflake...

Katzelkraft - Cluck! Cluck! Cluck!

Hi everyone!

It's Katzelkraft day. I didn't make a lot of Easter cards this year....

I just love the fun animals of the "La ferme des animaux" stamp set and especially the goose with her puzzled expression! As you can see, she is quite surprised that it's Easter again....

 

I stamped the background with a chicken and egg from Heindesign in neon colors. On top I glued a black Polaroid die cut and added the chicken, eggs and goose.

The text in the small speech bubble is handwritten: Easter again??? The triple "Cluck" is from Stampin'Up
