Today starts a new challenge at the Dream Factory

The movie of this month is 

The Croods

A funny movie that takes us back to the stone age....

I found the funny guys on Pinterest in the Stone Age coloring page category. 

I copied the image by hand using parchment paper and then traced it onto the card using tracing paper. Traced the lines again with a black marker. Made a second copy to get a mask so I could sponge the background and stamp the palm trees. Stamped the sentiment. I colored with alcohol ink markers and white Posca marker.

A quick reminder about the National Simplicity Day, our current challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club...

Stamped the zebra and masked so I could apply the light beam. 

A few strokes of alcohol ink markers and the zebra was colored too. 

I then added washi tape under the zebra and stamped the sentiment. Done!

You see, it was quite simple!

Hi everyone!

I have the honor of being a guest designer on Try it on Tuesday this fortnight. 

It's an Anything Goes challenge with the theme: 3 Colors of your choice.

A very simple thank you card, for which I used the beautiful stamp set "Artistically Inked" from Stampin'Up. 

Green and turquoise, are ink pads from Stampin'Up. For the bright pink of the flower, I have used a small stamp pad from Deco Time (Action). The bottom edge of the card is embellished with a strip of Washi tape. Hope you like it.

Katzelkraft - Be Batman

Hi everyone, 

Today is Katzelkraft day!!!! ...always a good day for me :))

It seems to be a good day for this dog too.....

To create the clouds in the background I used a handmade mask and Salty Ocean (Distress Oxide). The ground I sponged with Mowed Lawn (Distress Oxide) and Tranquil Tide (Stampin'Up). Splattered with water drops and made some strokes with just the ink pad to suggest grass. 

I then stamped the dog - once on the card and once on white bristol paper. Colored it with alcohol ink markers and cut it out. Before I glued the dog on, I drew the "Batman" shadow and colored it with alcohol ink markers. I could have made a one layer card but thought of it too late.

Finally, I stamped the Batman quote and adhered the panel to a blank card.

If you look closely you'll notice that I changed the dog's eyes and added a tongue.

Let's go for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we challenge you with the colors

Pale Blue & Red

I inked a birch pattern embossing folder with light blue ink and embossed a sheet of cardstock to create the background. I added a few brush strokes with black ink on the birch trunks.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock, embossed it with a snowflake pattern and added it to the bottom edge. 

In between the birch logs, I added some liquid pearl dots and sprinkled them with white glitter.  

Finally, I added three die cut birds and a watercolored fox that I cut out with scissors.

Texture paste, die cuts, a stamped background text and two bees, are the ingredients of this very simple mixed media card. For the sentiment I was not sure, so I left it out for now. The bee I colored with alcohol ink markers.

The first step

Hi everyone, 

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft project. :))

Mrs. Mouse looks a little hesitant....

... but I encouraged her with a quote appropriate to the situation! LOL

The stairs are also adjusted to the quote. I masked them, stamped the wooden floor and then masked the mouse and the floor. I lightly sponged the background with Salty Ocean (Distress Oxide) and then stenciled the square pattern (AALL&Create) with the same color. I colored with alcohol ink markers.

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

As usual, the first week of the month, we challenge you with a sketch. (see below)

After six weeks off, I'm not quite in the mood making Christmas cards, LOL. 

Here is the first one since my return. Made with pre-cut images and patterned paper. I added a die cut circle of glitter cardstock to keep up with the sketch.
