Happy Bird-Day

Hello everyone.

I want to remind you about our current challenge at the Dream Factory. 

The movie and theme for this month is "The Birds" from Alfred Hitchcock. - So birds are wanted!

I have been playing with Distress Oxide inks and a stencil to create the background. 

Added some texture stamps and an dry embossing to make it more interesting. 

The bird is colored with alcohol markers and the raindrops with colored pencils. 

I added a crown to the bird and two hearts to the branch. 

One of the sentiments is stamped along the branch.

Katzelkraft - La nature est...

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft inspiration and 

...I'm still in the autumn mood.

I was in the woods again and found more mushrooms....

As usual, I created the background with different inks and a stencil. I made sure to mask the areas where the stamps are located. Cleaned some aeras with bleach - and also splashed it on the background to make it more interesting. I mainly colored with alcohol markers, I used colored pencils for the annulus and the stems. For the bunny, I just dabbed yellow, red and brown ink on paper, stamped the image and fussy cut it. The sentiment ist from the new "Nature et Fleurs" set. It says: Nature is the mother of the most beautiful things.

Hello everyone!

Fourth and final post as host of the September Challenges at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

We close out the month with a stash challenge...

Washi Tapes

The stenciled background had been waiting for weeks to come into the spotlight! Today was the day it found favor in my eyes! I stamped a tiny text as a background for the "fir tree" and drew a vertical line down the middle. Then I added various strips of washi tape - plus a star sticker on the top.

Just as I was thinking about adding a sentiment, my eyes fell on the Nutcracker......

So I decided to add this one instead, since there are already sentiments on the washi tapes.

Katzelkraft - Autumn colors

Hello everyone!

Tuesday is my Katzelkraft day. This week I made a series of ATC's in autumn colors....

I created a background using Distress Oxide and a stencil and cut it into 3 pieces. 

Each of the three pieces was splashed with a few drops of liquid ink and bleach, then stamped with stamps from different Katzelkraft sets and some Stampin' up stamps. (Details below)

The insects, the mushrooms, the man with the umbrella and the maple leaf were stamped separately, colored, fussy cut and glued on. Finally, I added an embossed sentiment to each ATC and backed them with purple cardstock.

In a Jar

I have several stamps of these tiny jars and so I got the idea to make a shelf for them.

The background is stenciled in gray - a kind of a starry sky.

Under the die cut border that serves as the shelf, I stamped some wintry text. 

To finish it off, I added a black strip with an embossed "Merry Christmas" at the bottom. Hope you like it.

Life is better at the beach

Hello everyone!

Today starts our new challenge at Dream Factory. 

The movie for this month is:

The Birds

Keyword: Birds ...funny, quirky, cheeky, cute or not - no matter what they look like! 

You'd think I don't have any other stamps than Katzelkraft ...

I have, but no matter for which challenge, the ones from Katzelkraft always magically attract me! I almost have to fight not to stamp them on every card! - I tell you, I am addicted to them!

Our theme is birds, so no chance getting past the feathered things!

I stamped the birds, palm tree, coconuts and sun, colored with alcohol markers and fussy cut everything. I turned the birds' eyes into sunglasses.

The stenciled background had been waiting on my craft table for a while, I just sponged it with some more blue Distress Oxide to add to the vacation feel. For the beach, I used sandpaper and pasted all the prepared pieces onto it. I put a few shadows here and there with alcohol markers - very carefully so as not to roughen up the tips! Lastly, the sentiment and the card was done!

Be brave...

Hello everyone!

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft inspiration. Today with a potion of herbs and mushrooms.... 

Fire red and tipped over - Pabo has either tasted too much of the extract, 

or the mixture didn't turn out quite well! Ha ha ha

Lots of masking and sponging to fill the bottle with all the scrumptious ingredients, 

then masking again to stencil the background and spong the floor. 

I stamped pabo and the drops separately, colored them, cut them out and then glued them on. 

The sentiment is embossed on black cardstock, cut to size and adhered.

I hope Pabo will recover quickly from his unfortunate experiment....

Hello everyone!

We're celebrating World Gratitude Day at the Day of the Month Card Club and I want to remind you with a simple thank you card. After all, this day is all about expressing your gratitude or appreciation to someone.

The background is stenciled with Distress Oxide Wild Honey and Iced Spruce, backed with black glitter foil and pasted onto a white blank card. I embossed the flower in black, colored the white spaces with different shades of gray, cut it out and used foam pads to attach it to the card. I added a simple thank you sentiment and a few enamel dots. Hope you like it.
