News from the wild...

Hello everyone!
It's halftime at the Dream Factory and we're still in the wild. Our theme is Jumanji, and today I'm gonna show you another card from the jungle.

For my background I took a sheet of patterned paper - I have so much from this stuff and actually never use it!
I die-cut different leaves and colored them with alcohol markers. Others are directly stamped on the panel you can see behind the leaves. The panel is a remnant from a background I made with the Gelli-plate.
The animals are fabric-textured, padded stickers. The branch on which the bird sits is fussy cut.

The sentiment is stamped on a small strip, which is slightly curved and only glued at both ends. As a final touch I added three sequins to the card. I really like the "zebra look" of the patterned paper...
...and on top of that, several of the black stripes are provided with green shimmering glitter, which can be seen very well on this view!

What do you think about it?

With Sympathy

Hello everyone!
A friend of mine unfortunately lost her father - I made this very sober card to send her hugs and comforting words.

I let black acrylic paint diffuse on wet watercolor paper. After drying, I punched out two feathers and splashed them with white ink. I embossed a strip of tracing paper and stuck it on a white paper panel.  Coloured the edges of the card base in black and glued the panel to it. Tied the feathers together with a piece of twine and glued them to the card. The sentiment is stamped on a narrow white strip and glued as well.

Noël - Embellishments

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday again and I'm here to invite you to a new challenge at 52CCT.
This week we would like to see clusters of embellishments on your Christmas cards. - There should be at least 3 embellishments grouped together and placed anywhere on your card!

Those who know me, know that frills are not my thing! But that doesn't mean that I am devoid of these things, and that I can't sometimes reach the bottom of the frills box! Ha-ha-ha! - See for yourself!

The background was actually intended for a sympathy card, but was not quite as I imagined it! I think that the black-grey mix gives the picture a great depth and I like it much better here! Apart from the bold embellishments I only used Washi tape and embossed the top of the card. There is also a lot of glitter on the card, but unfortunately you can't see it! The lower part is embellished with Wink of Stella and the tree next to the deer is also covered with very fine glitter.
....and now I wonder how I should send this card!!

Have fun with the challenge!

brrrrrrrr...! It's cold

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and I'm here to introduce you to our new challenge theme at 52CCT.
This week, we want to see snowflakes on your Christmas cards.

The Katzelkraft Papos didn't get many opportunities to go out yet,

...but today one of Sherlock Holmes' team volunteered and was ready to face the cold!

I combined it with the naughty little dog Sir Leopold Bollersbach from Cats on Appletrees and a tree from Scrap Plaisir. The sentiment and the snow are also Scrap Plaisir stamps. I added watercolor to the background and after drying put some more watercolor to the snowflakes. Pabos is colored with alcohol markers. As a final touch I stuck a narrow strip of Washi tape along the side.

Now it's your turn - Have fun with the challenge!

Recycling + Mixed Media

Hello everyone!
Actually I just wanted to make my crafting table accessible.....
There are a lot of things lying around because it is very difficult for me to throw away even the smallest piece of paper, not to mention a punched piece or a "failed background", and as soon as I had the first remains in my hand, I got stuck! Instead of tidying up, I put things back and forth, on top of each other and next to each other...

...and little by little something like a picture came into being!
I couldn't help it, and I was holding on to it obsessively!
This is the result!
...I am really very surprised by myself, but I love what came out! ;)

The background is actually a failed "in quotes" background that was originally intended for this card. - Ah, too bad I didn't take a picture before using it! But if you look closely, you can still see two lines of the outline of the mask's face, just between the branch and the left wing of the butterfly. - The rest is covered by the scalloped circle.
The butterfly and the little sentiment just above it - I had one of each left - are from this card swapping project.
The balloon, too, is a "more or less" failure! It was originally supposed to be on this card.
The flower behind the circles, it goes back a long way! It is printed on tracing paper, but was too large to have been used for the project at the time.
As for the circles, they're one of the remnants in creating this card.
The clef and the note are cut-outs that have got stuck in a stencil.
The frog came from this card, I probably overdid it! Haha
I can't say for which projects the branch, the ladybugs and the strip with the writing were intended, but hey, you can't remember everything!

Well, that was the story of that card, a somewhat unusual style, I must say, but I hope you like it!

You're the kind of friend...

Hello everyone!
Today starts a new challenge at the Dream Factory and I think you'll like it!
This month's movie is about Jungle:

JUMANJI

Be green 🍃💚 - be jungle 🦧🐘🐍 - be wild 🐆🐊!!

No matching stamps - what now? ....Never mind!
I have a lot of colouring books (you never know...!) and maybe I will find what I am looking for in them!
5 minutes later I discovered these cute sloths! - The paper was certainly not the best for coloring with alcohol markers, but it worked.
I watercolored the background of the small panel in light blue - OMG, I thought the whole picture was ready for the trash! - It soaked up too much water and was full of stains! But when it started to dry I had hope, and lo and behold, it calmed down! - A little more turquoise blue might have been more appropriate, but I didn't want to risk another accident at the last minute and kept it like that.
I backed the sloths with black cardstock and glued them to a green one on which I had stamped leaf veins before.
The sentiment as well as the leaf veins are from SU.

Be wild and wonderful, and have lots of fun with the challenge!

Thanks

Hello everyone!
Something fruity today...

For a long time these berries have been waiting to decorate a card...

...today they have found grace in my eyes! LOL
I colored the berries with alcohol markers and as a final touch I put a small strip of Washi tape at the bottom. Sentiment and berries are from Craft Sensations.

With this card I want to say a big thank you to all my followers! - It's good to have you here! ♥

Peace on Earth

Hello everyone!
It's saturday and I want to introduce you to the our new challenge at 52CCT.
This week we want to see Pink, Purple & Gold on your cards.

A few stenciled stars in the background and a beautiful stamp from Stampin'Up, backed with a golden, dry embossed panel. To color the stamp I simply used Aqua markers and a gold marker. - This worked really well!!

Sorry, the light in my craft room is not really the best for taking pictures!

As a final touch I added some sequins here and there.

Have fun with our challenge!
