...lots of glitter!

Hello everyone!
Today I want to remind you on our current challenge at the Dream Factory. This month's movie is

Frozen
Snowy landscapes, forest animals, snowflakes, snowmen, reindeer, glitter, princesses...

In France, it is tradition to send New Year's greetings rather than Christmas greetings and we have until the end of January to do so. I do not follow this custom, but if I am missing Christmas cards, I sometimes have to fall back on it!

...but this time the card wasn't meant to be sent!

In our little handicraft group it became a habit that we make cards to exchange three or four times a year. The theme for the beginning of the year was: Glittery wishes

I've decided on a shaker card and made 8 of them.
They consist of a small, transparent pocket, which I cut out of document covers and then sewed them. Hmm - it was rather the other way round, I sewed first and then cut the pockets that were still open on one side ;)

I die-cut the sentiments and numbers from self-adhesive glitter foam and glued them inside the pockets. Then I filled them with lots of glitter, sequins, stars and many different transparent die-cuts that I had bought at some point.

Here they are!
I closed the pockets with one last seam and knotted the threads so that they would not open accidentally. I stapled the pockets to a piece of stamped card stock of the same size and then glued it to the white base card.

Hope you like it!

You still have a fortnight to link up your glittery things! ;)
Have Fun!!

Penguin Parade 2

Hello everyone!
Unbelievable but true - in two days I managed to make two non-DT cards!

After the dies, it's the stamps' turn!
You guessed it, this card is also for the Christmas Kickstart challenge!

Once colored the penguins, I cut them out with scissors and stuck them between torn strips of paper. Stamped some trees, snowflakes and stars on the panel which I had previously watercoloured slightly blue. Then I glued the mountains (also fussy cut) and the package with the penguins on it.

I put light blue glitter glue on the torn strips to give the "snow" some shine...

Penguin Parade

Hello everyone!
Since the beginning I had an eye on the Christmas Kickstart Challenge, but I always had to put it off until later...

...finally I made it!

I have a penguin die and I really wanted to use the new technique I learned last week from Jennifer MacGuire. This technique is really great and so easy to do! Look at the result!

I dry embossed the penguins with Versamark and then heat embossed them with silver embossing powder. After embossing I watercolored the background with blue Brusho and the penguins with felt-tip pens. I added some stars with grey ink and the sentiment with black ink. Backed the panel with black glitter foil. That's all!

Here is a closer view to show you the thin silver embossed lines.

Frohe Weihnachten

Hello everyone!
Today I am up on the blog over at 52CCT for our new challenge! This week: Embossed Impressions Technique
If you don't know this technique, please watch this video from Jennifer McGuire. You will see, it is a very simple but very effective technique that can be mastered quickly by anyone!

This technique was new to me and I simply followed the advice in Jennifer's video
... it is so well explained and really easy to realize!

I dry embossed a 300g watercolor paper with the Sleigh Ride framelits from Stampin'Up and Versamark and then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. After embossing I watercolored with felt-tip pens and a water brush pen. The silver embossed splashes are also made following Jennifer McGuire's tips! The sentiment is from SU.
I glued the panel onto a slightly larger piece of holographic wrapping paper and then onto the white base card!

On this closer view you can see the thin silver embossed lines and the shimmer of the holographic paper.

I hope you will enjoy this really cool technique and wish you a lot of fun doing it!

Oh la vache, die Kuh...!

...that's what my little sister would say if she saw this card! (It is a combination of German and French words, which she uses when something pleases or surprises her! It says someting like:  Oh, boy, the cow...!)
But it was not meant for her, it was for my second little sister's birthday.

Hello everyone!
I almost forgot to show you this card! I sent it to my little sister for her birthday - she thought it was great and very funny! - Do you agree?

A very simple card as you can see! I watercolored two small areas on a panel. Colored the cow with alcohol markers, fussy cut it and glued it to the panel. Stamped a branch and an owl on the right side of the panel and watercolored them with felt-tip pens. The sentiment is stamped on small strips of paper - It means: You're really cool!
I made stitches along the edges with a quilting wheel, backed the panel with green cardstock and glued it onto the basic card. For more fun I glued some tufts of grass in front of the cow's nose.

Gifts from Santa...

Hello everyone!
A new challenge starts today at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown - our theme is: Gifts

Today I did a relatively simple card. The background is made with Distress Oxide and white ink splashes. With the help of a torn paper and Distres Oxide Ink I applied some snowdrifts to the lower part of the card.
I colored Santa Claus and the firs, cut them fussy and glued them on the card. The sentiment is from LoraByLora.
Et voilà! - It was really easy-peasy!

Have fun!

It's a wonderful time

Hello everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory! This month, we selected a Walt Disney movie for you.

Frozen
Die Schneekönigin
La reine des neiges

Snowy landscapes, forest animals, snowflakes, snowmen, reindeer, princesses...

You can't tell by looking at it, but it almost drove me crazy! - That's what happens when you imagine things and then you have blinders on! Haha
I wanted to make a shaker card, but nothing, really nothing worked on this card right away! - I'll spare you the story about it! Happily I can be as stubborn as a donkey in such situations ...and fianally, I had the last say!

Looks very simple...! - belive me, it wasn't!!

We also have news starting this year!
Please check out the Challenge blog for more information!

Have fun!!

DotMCC - Challenge #11 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
This month we have a funny topic on Day of the Month Card Club and I want to remind you on our

Bubble Bath Day

Yes..., there are some who don't like bathing at all - like this cat, for example! Ha ha
I love it, because it simply fits to many occasions - even if it always looks a bit grouchy!

To make the bath foam look pretty realistic, I used glitter glue. For this I mixed light yellow, light orange and pale green roughly and applied it with a toothpick on the surface. It takes some time until it is dry but then it looks good! If you look closely you can also see the slight shimmer of Wink of Stella on the big soap bubble on the left.

I hope you like bathing more than this cat and you want to join in our funny topic...

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!
