Venice

is like eating un entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.Truman Capote

Hello everyone!
We are at the end of the month and it's time for a little reminder on our current challenge at the Dream Factory.
This month's movie is...

Casanova
Mardi Gras, Carnival, Venice, Love, Vintage etc.

I made two cards.
Since I couldn't decide which one to pick, I'll show you both!

I found this scene on the Internet. I drew the picture by hand on a piece of watercolor paper and painted it with felt-tip pens and water brush pen. I used black cardstock and Cloud White ink for the sentiment, cut it into tiny labels and pasted them on the image. Finally I mounted the image, which I backed with black cardstock, on a white card base.

The background for the second card also comes from the internet - we don't necessarily have a stamp for every theme - right?!!!
This time I copied the image from the PC using tracing paper and pencil - it didn't have to be very detailed!
Before transferring the image to the card, I stamped the young lady and masked her.
The dog also comes from the net. :) I could have used a digi-stamp, but I didn't feel like it!
Except for the sky, I colored everything with alcohol markers - I have a pretty good range of colors now! ;)
...the sky is colored using a water brush pen and light blue felt-tip.
I stamped the sentiment, cut the image to size, backed it with black cardstock and then glued it on a
card base.

Ah yes, I also made a little hat for the girl! -- but only afterwards -- cut out and pasted on!

There are two weeks left until the end of the challenge...
Have fun!

Ho Ho Ho

Hello everyone!
Saturday is 52CCT day and I'm here today with our new challenge.

This week we're using Foil
...any kind of foil!

Craft foil, go press foil, deco foil, hot stamping foil, gold leaf foil, aluminium foil etc.
If you want to use foil from the kitchen..here is a video to help you with that.

My idea for this challenge...

I used self-adhesive holographic foil, stuck it on a piece of cardboard and then die-cut two elements. - The stars are the ones that were removed from the border die-cutting!
I embossed a piece of red cardstock for the lower third of the card.

I stamped Santa Claus and the little chain you can see in the background on a white cardstock and then glued the punched and embossed parts onto the card. I delimited the embossed part with black washi tape.

Since this month counts five Saturdays, you have two weeks to deal with this topic!
Have fun!

Life is better with fruits!

Hello everyone!
I'm playing with Twofer's Fruit challenge today!

I used the "Tropical" clear stamp set from Stampo/Aladine for my cards.

image de Stampo clear - tampons transparents - vacances tropicales

My first card is a Thank you card.
I stamped the fruits on the lower third of the card and then colored it with alcohol markers. I separated the colored area from the white one with a narrow black washi strip and stamped a sentiment from Stampin'Up right above it.

The second card is pretty funny I think!
I imagined a little scene with the fruits on the beach and this is what came out!
I gave them eyes, feet, arms and mouth - look at my banana-dolphins, aren't they cute!?
I colored with alcohol markers again - sand and the sea are watercolored. The sentiment is from Craft Sensations.
With this card I can wish someone a nice holiday .....I can also imagine it as a funny retirement card!

I had so much fun doing these cards!!
Have a nice day!!

Carnevale di Venezia

Hello everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory!
As you know, the carnival is coming to its climax in the next few days and we thought that the movie

Casanova

would be a good fit this month!

On this topic you can show us everything about carnival, Venice, love, vintage etc.
...and of course a Casanova if you want! ;)

The idea was in my head from the beginning, but I lacked the right image...
Finally I found a mask on Pinterest, which I copied from my mobile phone using parchment paper. First I traced the inner lines of the mask with yellow Pearl Pen and after that was dry, I coloured the mask and cut it out. A few feathers and some white splashes, that's it!

I added three sequins - the sentiment is from Sampin'Up.

We would be very happy if you would join us!
Have a lot of fun!

Hot Cocoa

Hello everyone!

Do you like hot chocolate? - I do!
It's still cold enough to enjoy this pleasant drink, which is a good thing, because at 52CCT it's exactly what you need this week!
Design paper, stamps, digital images, dies, sentiments ......whatever you have that shows cocoa/hot choclate!

Here's my hot cocoa.

I stamped the images, colored them with alcohol markers and fussy cut them.
I stuck a narrow strip of Washi tape on the card and then glued the cut out images.
Finally I stamped the sentiment which says:

Long live winter

roll in the snow
and get in the warm
to enjoy a good hot chocolate
in front of the fireplace

Have some fun with this weeks challenge!

DotMCC - Challenge #12 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
Today I want to remind you of our current challenge on Day of the Month Card Club

Send a Card to a Friend Day

A theme where anything goes (but of course it should be a card) - with the request to send this card to someone.
....surely not a problem - cards are meant to be sent! 😉

My card was created a while ago and has already been sent!

I stamped the panel with different graphic flowers and then colored the whole surface with shiny metallic water color paints but since the colors are quite opaque, I had to trace all lines with a black permanent marker after drying.
Luckily, I had a little sentiment that fitted exactly into one of the designs! Wow!!

When I photographed the card we had a very sunny day - unfortunately a little bit too much to take pictures.....

On this photo you can see the shimmer much better!

Hope I made you want to join in...
...see you soon, on our next challenge!

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!

Home for Christmas

Hello everyone!
The weeks fly by and it's already Saturday! This means there is a new challenge at 52CCT!
We have a color challenge this week and we want to see three different or graded shades of blue on your cards.

Do you still remember your school days and the ink killers or ink eaters - as we called them as children?
Well, I found some ink cartridges and ink killers while cleaning out my drawers and I had an idea......

I pressed the content of one of the cartridges onto a piece of transparent plastic, took a wide brush and spread the ink on a piece of watercolor paper (300g). Then I washed the brush and moved the clean but wet brush from bottom to top to lighten the ink. I pressed the remaining ink droplets onto the dry paper!
That was the first step.

Next I used the stamps that can be seen on the photo. I moistened them with the ink eraser and immediately stamped on the blue inked paper - and lo and behold, it worked! The stars and the moon became immediately visible!
I used only the tip of the ink eraser for the dots.

The path was blue at first - I used the tip of the ink eraser to make the grooves.
Then took up very little ink with a water brush pen and watercolored the snow hills in very pale blue. - Looks a bit like lilac because the paper has a faint yellow tinge!

Finally I drew the fir trees with the blue pen at the opposite end of the ink eraser - added a blue line and the sentiment.

Hope you like it!

Have fun with the challenge!
