Who left the bag of idiots open ?

Hello everyone!
It's half time at the Dream Factory
Big, small, thick, thin, cute or not - this month it's all about dragons --- show us all you have!

All dragons are hand drawn using the "drawing with numbers" method - a really cool technique I found on Pinterest.
The sky is sponged with Distress Oxide inks - the sea, as well as the dragons, are colored with alcohol markers. I put some scribbles with crayons in the background, and here and there some accents with white gel pen. The fun sentiment is from Katzelkraft.

Hope you like my hand-drawn dragons.
Have FUN with the challenge!!

Katzelkraft - Smile when it's raining

Hello everyone!
Today is Katzelkraft day on my blog and would like to introduce one of their very new stamps.

A beautiful quote, which actually doesn't need much extra...

...but I wanted to include  the quirky but super cute cat from the set "Les Pabos - Aviateur", and because there's talk of rain, I also added "Les Gouttes D'eau"- a somewhat older stamp set from Katzelkraft.

I made the background with Distress Oxide ink and the acrylic block technique. Than stamped the quote, the cat and the raindrops. I masked the cat and the upper part of the card and sponged the ground with Distress Oxide - added some bleach drops here and there and soaked it up with a paper towel. I colored the cat with alcohol markers - for a funny finish I put a raindrop on its ear.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

'tis the season

Hello everyone!
Throughout September I had the pleasure of hosting the challenges at 52CCT. I hope you enjoy the partial stenciling technique I chose for the last of my September challenges.

I used three different stencils for this little winter scene - you can see them under the card.
I copied the fir shapes on scrap paper, cut them out and used them as a mask to create the background and to protect the already stencilled areas.
After the stenciling I drew the contours of the trees with a black micro pen. Stamped the deer, some tiny stars and the sentiment, and added a small strip of washi tape at the bottom of the card.

If you are not familiar with this technique, you can learn it here and here.

Have Fun!!

Katzelkraft -- Relax, it's not a competition

Hello everyone!
I'm here with a new Katzelkraft inspiration.

Katzelkraft had the great idea to design the feet for the ostrich - now you can create totally fun images with this complementary stamp.....

From the beginning I had this idea of a pompom in my head and couldn't get rid of it.
I had to think a bit, but once I found the solution, it was a lot of fun making this hilarious bird.
I sponged the background with Distress Oxide inks and stamped then the oistrich and his feet - whitened some areas with bleach and then colored with alcohol markers.
I made a pompom out of two colors of wool - cropped it a little bit and gave it the shape you see. As it was a little too light for my taste, I colored it with brown and black alcohol markers. Last step was the sentiment, which is also from Katzelkraft.

Hope you like it - see you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!

'Tis the season

Hello everyone!

Throughout September I have the pleasure of hosting the challenges at 52CCT
It's starting to get cold in the north. I've imagined polar bears and/or penguins on your cards - one or both of them, it's up to you!

I used stamps from different companies and did some masking to create this one layer card in long size.
The sledge is from Stampin'Up, the mountains and penguins from Scrap Plaisir (now Crea-Plaisir), the polar bear is a gift from a friend. Sentiment, fir and snowflake are from Lora Bailora.
I sponged the background with Distress Oxide "Mermaid Lagoon" and stamped some snowflakes with the same ink.  The images are colored with crayons, alcohol markers, glitter gel pens and micro pens. Hope you like it.

Have fun with the challenge!

Katzelkraft - Thank you

Hello everyone!

I needed a thank you card and for this I used one of the brand new Katzelkraft stamps.

The elegant design of the beautifully stylized flower Soliflor caught my eye immediately,
and it went straight to my wish list...
....and today to my card!

I did not want this delicate flower to be supplanted by too many colors or embellishments - so it became CAS.
I scribbled three different colors of Distress Oxide directly with the ink pad on an acrylic plate, splashed it with very little water and pressed it on a piece of watercolor paper. I let it dry and then stamped the flower.
I colored with micro pens and crayons - stamped a tiny text on the right side and the "thank you" on the bottom left - backed the panel with black cardstock and glued it to a white card base. Voilà!

See you next Tuesday, with another Katzelkraft inspiration.

Wahre Prinzen....

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory. For the month of September we've chosen the following movie

How to Train Your Dragon
Drachenzähmen leicht gemacht

True princes do not kill dragons for you.
They love you when you are one. (translation of the saying)

The range of my stamps, concerning dragons, is very limited and I didn't like the few I have. I found a few cute guys on the internet and two of them made it onto my card! - Yes, I am very fussy. LOL
Also the saying is out of the net and so it comes that the fir trees, at the bottom, are the only stamp on the card.
The background is sponged with Distress Oxide Inks and the images are colored with alcohol markers and glitter gel pens (the crown).

Hope you like it and maybe I see you soon at the Dream Factory.

Have Fun!!

DotMCC - Challenge #19 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
I am back with a funny, big-eared elephant to remind you of our current challenge at Day of the Month Card Club

Elephant Appreciation Day

Looks more complicated than it is...
For the background I used design paper - the flowers in the left corner belong to it, the sentiment is handwritten and the little bird is a sticker.
Now for the elephant. I found it on the internet, copied it by hand using tracing paper, colored it with alcohol markers and then cut it fussy. All that remained was to stick everything onto the background - and voilà!

Did you know that...
- Elephants have the longest eyelashes in the world. They’re about 5 inches.
- their trunks have 40.000 muscles and tendons, and it takes about a year for them to learn how to use it.
- Elephants are one of the few animals with self awareness. Like humans, apes, and dolphins, elephants can recognize themselves in a mirror.
- an elephant never forgets, and that’s because of the size of their hippocampus, the part of the brain where memories are stored, is so large. Elephants have the largest brains of any land animal in pure mass!

Have Fun!!!
