Very Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!
Days and weeks are passing at an unbelievable speed and it is already time for a new challenge at 52Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are using a non-traditional image...

This prickly guy has been waiting for weeks for a stamp pad and today he is on a Christmas card - what a lucky fellow!
I coloured with felt-tip pens and fussy cut the images before sticking them onto the card with foam pads. Added a strip of washi tape on the left. The sentiment is from Stampin'Up

I hope you like it as much as I do and that you will have some free time to play with us!
Have Fun!

SUMMER

Hello everyone!
It's still very hot outside and how could you quench your thirst better than with a piece of watermelon! That's what I thought when I made this card.

My card is for our new Dream Factory challenge that starts today. This month's movie is

Vicky Cristina Barcelona
Here are some keywords for those who don't remember the movie: Spain, Summer, Friendship, Art, Photography, Love...

....and watermelons! 🍉🍉😁

Its a one layer card. I coloured the whole surface with felt-tip pens. I drew some seeds and added light reflections. The sentiment is composed of three different stamp sets. Enjoy - Hero Arts; Summer - Aladine; Holidays - Lora Bailora

I hope you like it, and you'll have some time to play with us!
Have Fun!

Happy Holidays

Hello everyone!
It is very hot outside - how about a refreshing Christmas card?!
We have a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown and this week we're asking for three colors:

RED + GREEN + BROWN

Although it looks so simple - and it was, it cost me a little time...
...after four weeks vacation I had some trouble to get back into card making mode! 🙃

I started by having fun with alcohol inks because I didn't have a very clear idea of what I wanted to do.
Splashed red and green ink on photo paper and then added a few drops of gold. - It dried very quickly and I didn't have to wait long to use the panel!   ...the idea was also beginning to emerge!
I die-cut several trees, but finally I kept only one + its border and added the deer instead. ...I had my three colors!
The deer and the panel with the gold stamped sentiment (I didn't want to emboss it) are fixed with foam pads.

Hope you liked this and you will have time to
play with us!
Have fun!!

DotMCC-Challenge #5 - Yellow Pig Day

Hello everyone!
Today we start our 5th Challenge at DotMCC! - Thank you so much for all the great works you shared with us during the previous challenge! 💗

Our new challenge them is:

Yellow Pig Day
Celebrated on July 17th

July 17 is Yellow Pig Day. Despite its name, this day is not a celebration of the pig world, but a celebration of the number 17. - More info about this day on the DotMCC challenge blog!

Here we're not going to get formal with Maths and for once the pigs will be yellow! Ha ha
...if you want to use some scientific numbers on your projects, don't hesitate - but don't forget the yellow pig! 🐖😉

I created this little scene using stamps from the absolutely adorable pig stamp set that my friend and teammie Cornelia sent me - I didn't have a single piglet in my stuff! ....Thanks so much Cornelia❣️
I watercolored with felt-tip pens and then fussy cut the images.
The background is a remnant of one of my color experiments, backed with black cardstock - it sticks on a embossed panel! Both pigs wear glasses so they can see better! Ha ha
To adjust the sentiment, I crossed the word pink and replaced it by yellow.

I hope you have some time to join in, because...

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!
...and it makes us happy! 😉

Stamps: Hog Heaven (MTF (a gift from my friend Cornelia))

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!
Today is 52CCT  day and every first Saturday of the month we have a sketch, to challenge you!

Sketches are always a big challenge for me but as I already mentioned, it's because I don't have enough training! It's like sport - no training, no results! 😁

This one was relatively easy to do and I quickly got an idea of what I was going to do.
I have a box in which there are always lots of scraps. Embossed or some experiments with colours, they are waiting for their turn and as for last month's sketch, I found my luck among these scraps this time too.
The embossed black panel was a perfect match and all I had to do was attach the ribbon and make a nice bow. - The three fir stickers buzzed through my head right from the beginning!
The design paper in the background is from my kitchen! I sponged Sahara Sand and Daffodil Delight on a piece of white cardstock and then stamped the notes with Smokey Slate. - Looks nice, doesn't it?

And now it's up to you!
Happy sketching with....

Dreaming of Santa Claus...

Hello everyone!
Saturday is 52 Christmas Card Throwdown day and this week we have a technique for you...

POP UP

The two sweet kittens are dreaming of Santa Claus...

...and when you open the card, he's already there!

I used two squares for the window in the card - one for die-cutting and the second for embossing. Underneath I created a small winter scene. The cats are watercolored with felt-tip pens and then fussy cut.
When you open the card, a small box appears, from which Santa Claus and two of his little helpers look out.

You can see how this works in the short video!

The dies for the box are available at Lawn fawn, but I just stole the idea! 😉

I hope I have inspired you! - I look forward to your creations!

Be the best version of you!

Hello everyone!
It's time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory! - This month's movie is

Breakfast at Tiffany's
Frühstück bei Tiffany
Diamants sur canapé

Keywords: women, fashion, jewellery, love...

I used stamps from various manufacturers for this card. The Eiffel Tower, the sun and the sentiment are from Craft Sensations, the girl is from Stampin'Up and the arc at the top of the card is from Katzelkraft.
I watercolored with felt tip pens. The upper part of the background is light blue and the lower part light purple to light brown. I made the dress and the hat of the girl with the paper piecing technique. I stamped the girl on a blue inked paper (from my kitchen) and fussy cut the required piece.
On the left I glued a narrow black stripe of cardstock - I think this gives the card a more interesting look!

And now I hope to be a source of inspiration for you and look forward to your work....
Have fun with our challenge!

Vintage Christmas

Hello everyone!
Saturday is 52 Christmas Card Throwdown day! This week it's a theme challenge and we're asking for a

Shabby or Vintage card

I started by stamping the Christmas tree on a sheet of kraft cardboard. Then it was Santa's turn, then the snowflakes and the score. To reinforce the vintage look, I sponged the edges and also the card with Early Espresso (SU). I head embossed the sentiment with gold embossing powder on black cardboard, die-cut it and glued it with foam pads just under the score. Finally I colored the baubles with Real Red (SU) and added then ultra fine glitter using glue.

From this angle you can see the glitter a bit better...

That was a lot of fun!
Now it's up to you! - We are looking forward to your works!

Stamps: Santa and music score (Crafty Secrets); Snowflakes (SU); Tree and Sentiment (Craft Sensations (Action))
Inks: Early Espresso, Real Red, Tranquil Tide (SU)
Dies: Craft Sensations (included in the stamp set)
Ultra fine white glitter, gold embossing powder

DotMCC - Challenge #4 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
Today I come with a new inspiration for our current Day of the Month Card Club Challenge.

The theme is...

Hug you cat
Celebrated on June 4th

Did you know that:
- The oldest ancestors of the cat already lived about 50 million years ago
- A cat has 32 muscles in each ear to move them - humans only have 6.
- Aspirin can be fatal to the cat. What helps us against headaches is not for kitties.
- Cats sleep up to 16 hours a day

That's me, hugging my cat. 😁

The image is composed of two stamps - the girl and the cat. The girl is holding a little basket that I cut off and replaced with the cat. To do this I made a mask with the cat and once positioned on my panel, I stamped the girl on it. I removed the mask and stamped the cat, then I drew the girl's arms.
I watercolored with felt-tip pens. The background is slightly pink - a remnant of a test with inks. I added the sentiment plus a small black strip on the side and glued the panel on a white card.

Have Fun with our new challenge
and show us your cute, funny and wild little Tigers!
...and please don't forget that 3 of your fellow participants would be happy to receive a little comment 😉

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!

O Christmas Tree!

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! This week we're colorful:

Grey - Pink - Kraft

I love these colors and I wanted to see only them on my card!
I stamped three different trees in the requested colors and watercolored the smallest ones of them.
I die-cut the "Joyeux Noël" once out of silver cardstock and once out of black cardstock and glued the two slightly shifted together. I am really very happy with the outcome! :))

I hope you like the challenge as much as I did! Have fun!

DotMCC-Challenge #4 - Hug your cat

Hello everyone!
Today begins our 4th challenge at DotMCC, but first of all I would like to thank you for all the wonderful creations you shared with us during the previous challenge! 💗

 Our new Challenge theme is:

Hug your cat
Celebrated on June 4th

Sometimes they are cuddly, sometimes they are wild hunters, sometimes they are gentle, sometimes you can barely control them: Cats.
It is man's favourite pet and it is as fabled as it is funny. - This month they are the stars of our challenge and we will give them a big, big hug!

I think my cat's cuddling with me, but that's okay too! I found the image on the net and was immediately attracted to it. This look and this thick licking....

I die cut the frame, drew the cat on the inner part and colored it with alcohol markers. I underlaid the whole thing with black cardstock. The background is the remnant of a homemade design paper. I wrote a short text around the frame.
It may not look like it, but the card was made pretty quickly.

Well, hug your cats and whatever else you want to do with them and have fun with the Challenge!

There is ALWAYS a reason to celebrate!
...and that makes us happy! 😉

Joyeux Noël

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! On the first Saturday of the month we always start with a sketch. (See below)

The challenge was easier than I thought at first! - I have to say that I always have a little trouble with sketches, it's probably because I don't have enough practice!
There's not much to say about this very simple card. It is made from leftovers that were lying around and to my great surprise everything "nested" perfectly! The only thing I added was the words "Joyeux Noël". Once in black and once in silver then glued together by shifting them slightly.

Happy sketching!

Come fly with me!

Hello everyone!
It's time for a little reminder on our current Dream Factory challenge! - Jim Button and Luke the Engine Driver
Keywords: Locomotive, Dragon, Island....

I was inspired by the dragon in the movie! - No, not from the naughty one but from the sweet little one!
Little Smookie (Nellie Snellen) is hanging on one of the balloons I made with a homemade stencil and distress inks. After dyeing, I fussy cut and glued them to the top of the card. The tiny lines are drawn with black marker. I embossed the sentiment on a piece of black cardstock.

Ready ready to go?!
You still have two weeks before a new challenge starts!
Have fun!

Do you already know the Eraser Technique?

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! This week we have a technique challenge:

Eraser Technique

The basic equipment for this simple but very effective technique is very minimal.
All you need is a piece of sandpaper, a pencil, a sharpener, a matching stamp, a stamp pad, a sponge and of course an eraser.
What is still very important is hairspray, but I'll explain that below!

Here is my card, which I will explain step by step with the following pictures.

Here again the basic equipment for this technique.
You can and should also use stencils, that makes it even more interesting!
But for today I will only use the indispensable!

First I scribbled with the pencil on sandpaper to get graphite, which I then smeared with a small sponge on the whole surface of the white card stock. - Not too much, but not too little!
Then I stamped the penguins.
....I won this stamp with this technique at Heindesign ....because actually the story started there!
Last November my friend Gundi organized a challenge with this technique, which she had discovered at Heindesign. It immediately caught my eyes and of course I had to take part! Mr. Hein had provided this stamp for the Challenge and personally selected the winner according to his criteria! - You can imagine how happy I was!

Sorry, I was a bit long, but I had to tell the story!

Next I made a few snow hills with a torn piece of paper.

Then I started erasing the snowmen....
See, now they're getting white again!

I also made thick snowflakes - I just put on the eraser tip and turned it.
....you should clean the eraser frequently so that nothing gets smudged!

I watercolored the penguins with felt-tip pens and erased the snow hills a bit more.
To make it a bit glitter, I covered the snowmen, the snowflakes and the snow hills with Wink of Stella.

I cut the panel to size and made faux stitches at the edges using my quilting wheel.

And now the hairspray comes into use!
It is sprayed over the finished card, so that nothing can smear afterwards!
...and the second positive side, it smells good! :)

If you want to look at other examples, here are some of them: Here using a stencil, here using Kraft, here and here.

I hope I could inspire you to this super simple technique and look forward to what you do with it!
Have fun smearing and erasing! 😉

Love You

Hello everyone!
When our grandchildren are on holiday with us, it has already become a habit that little Jeanne (8) wants to make a card with her grandma. Usually she's looking for an example to imitate it and granny helps as little as possible. She is really very meticulous and has a lot of patience to cut images with scissors, but above all she likes to use the Cuttlebug......

Here is her latest creation!

Jeanne adores her daddy and most of the time she makes a card to tell him how much she loves him - this one was no exception!
She found inspiration in one of my SU catalogs. She stamped all parts that were meant to be cut out herself, but she didn't dare to do it with the bird directly on the card - Grandma had to help!
She cut out the squirrel, the tree stump and the hedgehog with scissors - the mushrooms were too small for her and I was allowed to help! She was most happy about the hearts because she could use the Cuttlebug! The background was my thing (Distress Oxide) and the speech bubble as well....

How do you like her little work?

Coffee first!

Hello everyone!
Personally I like tea and more particularly green tea with mint, but today I make an exception and I'll have a cup of coffee!   ....Would you like some too?

I used a nice set of stamps that I bought some time ago at Action. I fussy cut the cup and the coffee pot after coloring. The bottom part of the card is a scrap that was made with a stencil and Distress Oxide inks. I had kept it like so many others because you never know....  ....it can be useful!
.....aaand I did well!!! - 'cause I am very happy with the outcome!
I had no matching sentiment, so all letters were die cut and meticulously glued one by one! - Huh! ...It says: Coffee first! The coffee pot sticks with foam pads.

Hello Spring!

Hello everyone!
Today it is very bad and cold outside and I want to brighten up this day with a colorful card that breathes spring! .......and to warm me up a little! ;)

I used Distress Oxide ink pads in 3 different colors and simply wiped them over the card. I stamped the bouquet and also used Distress Oxides for coloring. The forget-me-nots got a small yellow pearl pen dot as flower centre. I added faux stitches at the edges with a quilter wheel.

Whishing you a happy and sunny day...

Let's sing together....

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and time for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! This week is a theme challenge:

Choral  𝆔🎜♪🎝

All the stamps on this card are from Scrap Plaisir (now Créa Plaisir). I masked the penguin and the teddy bear so I could place the other subjects behind them. I watercoloured with felt-tip pens. I masked everyone to put the merry men in a snow hill.
I made faux stitches on the edges with a quilting wheel before backing the panel with brown cardstock.

As you can see on the stamp set, none of the subjects have open mouths or eyes - I had to open them to make them sing! :)

I hope you will enjoy this challenge! Have fun!
