A Merry Little Christmas

Hi everyone!
I want to remind you about our current challenge at the Dream Factory
The movie and theme for this month is

Arthur Christmas

After Christmas is before Christmas - right?

I created a background with Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon. Stenciled snowflakes with texture paste.
Stamped the sentiment and the animals, colored with alcohol markers and cut everything out.
Pasted the pieces on and added shadows - that's it!

Have Fun!

Katzelkraft - Wintertime

Hi everyone!
Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
It was rather quiet here. I'm still not really up on the run - the post-holiday cold exhausted me more than I thought it would. I also had to work pretty hard to get back into the rhythm after three weeks of "no crafting"!!!
For my weekly Katzelkraft creation, I made a tag following the instructions from Isa's Facebook Live video

I smooshed some white acrylic paint on the bottom of the tag and spread white splatters over the rest of it. Stamped the fir trees and the deer. Masked the deer and stamped some snowflakes. Added blue distress ink to the bottom.
Stamped the owl on a leftover piece of a background created with acrylic paints, cut it out. Stamped the robin on a leftover piece of watercolored paper and cut it out as well. Stamped the birds on the tag and then adhered the cut out ones. Sponged around the edges with blue ink and finalized with the berry branches and the word Wintertime cut in two.

Hope you like it! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Katzelkraft - Working Rook

Hello everyone!
I am back with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!
I'm using "Le Gambit du Roi" stamp set, designed by Isabelle.

This ATC was made a few weeks ago for a card swap with Isabelle. I used the leftovers from a card I made earlier. The process was the same as for these two ATCs. I found a suitable quote from Samuel Reshevsky, which I wrote by hand with a white gel pen and a black permanent marker.

So, here are the three ATCs that Isabelle got from me.
I had also made a matching card, but unfortunately forgot to photograph it. :(

...and these are the ATCs I got from Isabelle - accompanied by a fun card.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!! ;)

Merry Christmas

Hello everyone!
Today starts our new challenge at Dream Factory
The movie for this month is:

Arthur Christmas
A funny movie about restoring order at the North Pole
to preserve the good old tradition and save the beloved Christmas.

There are a lot of elves in the movie, so these little guys were just what I needed.
I adhered two embossed hills on the stenciled background. Stamped the elves, fir trees and gift on bristol paper, colored them, cut them out and adhered them as well. Finally, I added the sentiment and a few watercolor strokes.

Katzelkraft - Good Friends

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is my Katzelkraft day. On this weeks card, the fun Rats de ville have made themselves at home again.
The card also serves as reminder card for the current "Bake Cookies Day" challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club, because I had very little time to craft in the last couple of weeks!

Just like on this card, I used cookies from a supermarket brochure again. I pasted them on stronger paper, fussy cut them and used alcohol markers to brighten up the colors. The background is a leftover from this pop-up card.
For the floor, I used two different washi tapes. Pasted the fussy cut rats as well as the cookies and added two sentiments from the Whatchamacallit set. The one on the right I modified a bit for the specific need. I replaced the cheese that the rat is actually holding with a piece of cookie.

Hope you like those fun rats! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Be still and listen

Hello everyone!
Today I am playing along with  Isa C. Art and Craft.
She wants us to make a tag and to do this, I followed the instructions from her Facebook Live video.

I smooshed some white acrylic paint on the right side of the tag and added white splatters. Stamped the Christmas snowflakes pattern on the left. Added green distress ink to the right. Stamped the berry twig and the fir trees. Stamped the bird on the tag and once again onto Bristol paper, colored it and cut it out. Stamped another fir tree on Bristol and cut it out as well.
I glued the cut out parts onto the tag and added white acrylic paint to the trees. Sponged around the edges with black ink and finally stamped the sentiment onto a scrap of white paper and cut it out.

Hope you like it.

Katzelkraft - Cookies Day

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is my Katzelkraft day. The card for this week is made with the fun "Rats de ville".
Today also marks the start of a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club, so I've combined both into one post!
This month we are celebrating

Bake Cookies Day

Sugar Cookie Recipe (source)
1 ½ cups powdered sugar · 1 cup butter or margarine, softened · ½ t almond extract
1 egg · 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour · 1 t baking soda · 1 t cream of tartar
· Mix together the powdered sugar, butter, vanilla, almond extract, and egg in a large bowl
· Stir in the rest once this is blended · Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours
· Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 °C), divide the dough in half, roll out to a ¼inch thick sheet
· Apply cookie cutters to get desired shape, and bake for 7-8 minutes until the edges are light brown. Bon appétit!

Now let's see how I made my card.

Since I don't have cookie stamps, I had to come up with another solution!
I found the cute cup with the gingerbread cookies on the internet. I traced it by hand and combined it with the rats from Katzelkraft. I also found some cookies in a brochure from the supermarket. I cut them out and pasted one into the stealing rat's hands and the other behind the holly branche. The background is sponged with Distress Oxide inks and stamped with snowflakes from Katzelkraft - a few splashes of white acrylic paint add interest.
I colored with alcohol markers and watercolor. The sentiment is from Stampin'Up.

Hope you like it! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Holly Jolly Xmas

Hello everyone!
It's Saturday and today I'm here with the final 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge of the year.

Pick a previous 2021 52CCT challenge

Unlike the other months of the year, in December we only have one challenge for the entire month.
You can choose one or more of the challenges we have presented throughout the year. See the Challenge Blog!

Here is my choice for the last challenge of this year!

Fairy Lights

Made by Jeanne

I could not have done it easier this time!
This super cute card is from my granddaughter Jeanne. She made it for me and since I had very little time to craft, I thought, why not show her gorgeous card!  At the top is a string of Christmas lights and so it fit quite well with the challenge. The card is made up of patterned papers and die cuts she lovingly put together.
I hope you like her little work of art - next time it's my turn! ;)

Have fun with the challenge!
