Hi everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at the Dream Factory

The movie for this month is

LUCK

We have St. Patrick's Day in minde, 

but you're welcome to take inspiration from the movie poster and the movie itself! (see below)

I've been digging through my scrap box a lot these days....

...and guess where I found the background for this ATC? ...exactly, in my scrap box! :)) 

I splattered the piece of gelprint with white ink. While it was drying, I stamped the little girl and the cat, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. I stamped different background designs and the sentiment on the ATC. Added the girl and cat and backed the ATC with black cardstock. I think it fits the challenge :))

Hi everyone!

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft project. 

Surely you now already know all the fun animals from the Dainius collection.... 

I stamped the animal and flower pot directly onto the card and colored them with alcohol ink markers. Masked them and did some sponging around them. Before removing the masks, I added some  black splatters to the background and scribbled, or rather smeared, some soil (not really happy with that) under the animals feet. Stamped the sentiment, cut it to labels and added it. It says something like: I'm fine! And you?

... and don't forget!!!

Rainy Days

Hi everyone!

A little reminder about the National Umbrella Day challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club...

At our last workshop, I treated myself to a stamp set from Stampin' Up. 

Luckily it arrived this weekend so I could use the stamps for my reminder post. 

The background is a leftover piece of a gel print from my stash. Just big enough for a bookmark! 

I added raindrops and a few other stamp prints, and then two of the fun animals I made using the Paper Piecing technique found their place on it. - Used some design paper snippets this way! 

I stamped the sentiment, cut it in three parts and added it. Finally, I backed the bookmark with black cardstock, punched a hole at the top and added a ribbon. Maybe you like it.

Let It Snow

Hi everyone!

Let's go for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we challenge you with the color

WHITE

White on white is a real challenge - at least for me! 

I played around with different papers and layers, die cuts and embossing to add some pizazz to my card.

The snowflake I created using embossed vellum paper (from a box of chocolates), textured paper and glitter cardstock. 

The panel in the center I embossed and embellished with half pearls and Wink of Stella. I backed it with glitter cardstock and adhered it with foam tape. The sentiment cut out of foam is also embellished with a few half pearls.

Katzelkraft - I like people who smile when...

Hi everyone!

I am back with a new Katzelkraft creation.

Today also marks the start of a new challenge at DotMCC, so I've combined both into one post! 

This month we are celebrating

National Umbrella Day

That's where the umbrella from Katzelkraft fits right in!

I started by making masks of the umbrella and bird and arranging them on the card. This helps me see where the images fit best. I then inked the umbrella stamp with pink and black and stamped the image on the card. Stamped the bird and the circles as well. Masked the umbrella, stamped the raindrops and colored them with aqua markers.

Next, I scribbled on an acetate sheet with a yellow aqua marker and sprayed it and the card with water. 

I blotted this slightly thinned color in some areas of the card and repeated the process a second time. 

While the card was drying, I stamped the bird on bristol paper, colored it a little with alcohol ink markers and cut it out.

I slit the arm in front of its belly all the way around and stuck the the umbrella handle inside. I glued the bird to the card and stamped the word raining again. Colored the bottom edge with a little blue and added torn strips of washi tape. 

It sounds like a lot of work, but it wasn't!

Glory to the Newborn King

Hi everyone!

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

As usual, the first week of the month, we challenge you with a sketch.

After a lot of back and forth, I decided to use one of my gel prints. 

The colors are a bit strong, but somehow I like the contrast....

I punched out stars in various sizes and adhered the panel to a white blank card. Placed smaller stars in the larger cutouts and added black and gold dots all around. The sentiment is heat embossed on black cardstock and added with foam tape.

I placed the nativity scene in the largest cutout and framed it with a star punched from gold glitter cardstock.

I have to admit that I really struggled with this sketch. But in the end, I think I kind of got it. Hope you like it.
