Katzelkraft - Snowflake Wishes

Hello everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft inspiration :)

First I stamped the pabo and masked it. Then I tore a hole in a sheet of paper and used it as a mask.
I made the sky using a punched cloud. Stamped the fir trees in black and a second time in dark green. I took the masks off and colored the pabo with alcohol markers. For the Santa hats I made a stencil and used it to draw all the hat outlines. Colored them with alcohol markers too, cut them out and pasted them on Pabo's head, and lastly added the sentiment.

Two or three times a year we do a card swap in our little Stampin' Up group. The girls know that I do a lot with Katzelkraft stamps, so that's fine. I only used a sentiment and the snowflakes from SU. Pabo and the firs are from Katzelkraft. The Santa hat I drew myself, because the one from Katzelkraft was a little too small for the pilot.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!! ;)

Good Things are worth waiting for

Hello everyone!
I want to remind you about our current challenge at the Dream Factory
The movie and theme for this month is

Limitless
"No limits" - just make something you enjoy, or what meets your needs.

I took inspiration from the movie poster and created this masculine birthday card using the hot glue embossing technique. It consists of using a hot glue gun, embossing powder and an embossing heat gun....
...but check out this video (by Connie McFarlane), she shows it much better than I can explain!

Unlike the video, I made my background with acrylic paints and only then applied the hot glue. Since I had also stenciled and the paints don't dry very quickly on acrylic, the embossing powder stuck to some of those areas as well, but I still thought the result was interesting. I added a few splashes of gold to the strips and heated them again. Added the sentiments and glued the strips on.

I had used the technique before here and here. I really like the texture it gives - I think I should use it more often....

A closer view of the texture...

Before I try to explain the technique, you better watch this video by K Werner! ;)

Following the instructions in the video, I created these Christmas baubles. Added two die cut fir branches and a sentiment. Pasted the panel to patterned paper and then to a blank card.

Have fun with the challenge!

Katzelkraft - Into the Wild

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is Katzelkraft day here on my blog.
For today's card I used the new and oh so wonderful stamp set "Into the Wild".

I stamped the owl and masked it. Stamped the tree once in green and second time in black and masked it as well. Stamped the bears head, masked it and finally stamped the wood pile (Stampin'Up). To stamp the bear head and the stacked wood I used Early Espresso, a waterbased ink from Stampin'Up. I just had to go over with a water brush pen to get a light grey-brown color. Added a bit yellow to the wood pile.
I stamped the robin and masked it. Covered the left half of the card and sponged the right half of the background with blue Distress Oxide. Added some splatters with black ink and removed all the masks.
I colored the birds with watercolors, highlighted a few spots with alcohol markers and white gel pen, and finally stamped the sentiment.

Hope you like it.  - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!! ;)

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas

Hello everyone!
New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we want to see

Fairy Lights

My Christmas lights look like Christmas balls, but they just look like that! ;) :)
I stamped the fir trees (Katzelkraft) and sponged the background with blue Distress Oxide ink. I stamped the houses, the little fairy or angel (Stampin'Up), the dog, the bird, the star and the fairy lights on cardstock, colored them with alcohol markers, fussy cut them and then adhered them. To make them look snowy, I applied white acrylic paint and Wink of Stella to the trees. The sentiment is from Lora ByLora. I hope you like this little winter scene.

My second card has a much simpler look.
I cut out a light bulb and its base from rubber scraps from Stampin'Up stamp sets and used these homemade stamps to make the Christmas lights. I stamped on patterned paper embossed with snowflakes and immediately cleaned off the snowflakes with a paper towel to make them pop again. I traced the outer lines of the lights with a fineliner, stamped the sentiment and added a few sequins. As a finishing touch, I used a tracing wheel to make faux stitches around the edges of the card.

Have fun with the challenge!

Katzelkraft - Walk in the forest

Hello everyone!
Today we are going for a walk in the forest! For my weekly Katzelkraft card I used the new sets "Mushpignons" and "Winter Wonderland". (see the images below)

I was lucky, I found mushrooms....

Lots of masking for this card! I stamped and masked the mushrooms, starting with the large toadstool, followed by the chanterelle, etc.  I kept the masking and sponged the background with Distress Oxide inks. For the darker area at the bottom, I applied the color directly with the ink pad.
I stamped the fir trees "behind" the masked mushrooms, and then removed the masks. Colored the mushrooms with alcohol markers and gave the firs a few green and brown strokes. The white spots on the toadstool are made with acrylic paint.
The grass under the mushrooms and the branches in the foreground are from the set "Herbes folles".
Finally, I embossed the sentiment and the names of the mushrooms on black cardstock, cut them to size and glued them on.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration!! ;)

Do you like Minions?

Hello everyone!
Today starts our new challenge at Dream Factory
The movie for this month is:

Limitless

This month, we take it literally!
"No limits" - just make something you enjoy, or what meets your needs.

Yay, we can do whatever we want! - I wanted to put a lady Minion on my card :))
Actually, female Minions do not exist, but if you look closer, you can find some.
Or maybe they are male ones in disguise? - I wouldn't be surprised! LOL

This lady Minion is handdrawn (I had a sample) and colored with alcohol markers. For her skirt I did a little paper piecing.
I colored the background and shadow with watercolors and then glued the lady on.
The sentiment is computer generated. Hope you like it.

Have fun with the challenge.
As I said, there are no limits! - Anything Goes!!

A little sunshine...

Hello everyone!
It's time for a little reminder of our current challenge at Day of the Month Card Club. The theme is

Beautiful Day

I sponged the background with Distress Oxide Peacock Feathers and Mowed Lawn. Using the Tranquil Tide ink pad from Stampin'Up, I made a few bold strokes to suggest grass and then added a few small flowers with an alcohol marker. Stamped the sunrays.
For the lady, I did some paper piecing with the hat and the dress. The body is colored with alcohol markers. I embossed the sentiment on a small black strips, cut it in half and adhered it. Voilà my Beautiful Day card!
