Don't Grow Up...

Hi everyone!

We are entering the second half of our current challenge at the Dream Factory. 

This month we are focusing on penguins.

The background of this ATC is a piece of paper that I had colored with acrylic paint. To get the penguin's belly in white, I tore off a piece of bristol paper in the shape of the penguin and also left a thick strip for the snow.  

I attached the torn paper to the bottom edge of the ATC with washi tape and stamped the penguin on it. I removed the paper and stamped the penguin again to get an unbroken image. After that I diluted gesso with a little water and spattered it on the ATC. To make it dry faster, I helped with the heat gun. I then added the penguin stamped on the white paper and colored it with alcohol ink markers. Finally, I stamped the sentiment and backed the ATC with black cardstock. Hope you like it.

Katzelkraft - Not All Those Who Wander Are Lost

Hi everyone! 

I am back with a new Katzelkraft creation.

I took a gel print as a background and sponged its edges with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot (Distress Oxide). I stamped the cat with the mouse and masked it. Stamped the moon and the ground and then removed the mask. I stamped the cat again on Bristol paper, colored it with alcohol markers, cut it out and then adhered it to its spot. The moon I also colored with alcohol ink markers. Finally, I embossed the quote on black cardstock, cut it into single words and added it.

Hi everyone!

Let's go for the last challenge of this year at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we want you to use 

Brads and/or Eyelets

Although I have lots of eyelets, I opted for brads, which show up as stars on this card.

I used patterned paper as a background. The stars are attached to a die cut square and hang from silver threads. I also added a few tiny die cut stars to soften the black background. The sentiment is die cut from white glitter cardstock.

Katzelkraft - Merry Everything

Hello everyone!

Today is Katzelkraft day. 

A Christmas card for a change, because I have not made enough this year. Ha ha ha

I put a little Chipped Sapphire and Fossilized Amber (Distress Oxide) to a piece of acetate and sprayed it with water. Placed it on half of the card and moved the acetate away to the left edge. Stamped the ornament in the background and added a few splatters of black ink.

I stamped Santa on Bristol paper and colored him with alcohol markers. Cut him out and adhered him to the card. Added the sentiment.

I am dreaming of a pink Christmas

Hi everyone!

Let's go for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

The theme of this week is

Snowflakes

Little snowman dreams of a pink Christmas and...

his dream came true! 

Pink snowflakes are floating from the sky and even the ground is already covered with them. 

The reindeer is a bit surprised about this unusual color, but it's ok with me, I love pink! :))

I stamped the image and the thought bubble and masked both. I then lightly sponged half of the card pink and stamped snowflakes with the same color - first on scrap paper then on the card to get a lighter print. 

I removed the masks. Colored the image with alcohol markers and stamped the sentiment into the bubble. Added a few rhinestones to the snowflakes to make them sparkle :)

Today starts a new challenge at the Dream Factory

The movie for this month is

Mr. Popper's Penguins

Ice, Snow, Arctic, Winter ...but first and foremost: Penguins!!!

What a fun theme! I pulled out almost all of my penguin stamps for this card!

... and as you can see, they didn't brave the cold!  Ha ha ha

I stamped and masked everything in order until the scene was complete. Then I colored penguins, furniture and plant with alcohol markers. The walls and floor I colored with watercolors. The walls seemed a little blank to me, so I masked off all the stamped areas and the floor again, took a stencil and stenciled stripes with Chipped Sapphire (Distress Oxide). I liked it much better that way! 

Finally, I heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock, cut it to size and adhered it. 

Lots of masking and coloring on this card! I actually don't have time to make such elaborate cards, but this scene had been on my mind for days and it was huge fun to create it. I hope you like it as much as I do.
