Hi everyone!
We're heading into the second half of our current Dream Factory challenge, and I would like to briefly remind you about it.

Day of the Death and/or Halloween
A while ago, I tried out the Blackout technique that I saw on a card on my friend Gundi's blog.
I tried it three times and I don't think I'll be trying it again, because the technique uses a lot of ink and you need to have suitables embossing folders. I think floral motifs are more suitable than the ones I used. Well, at least I gave it a try!
I thought I wouldn't use them, but lo and behold, I liked one of them for my Halloween card.
I drew a few sugar skulls in different sizes because I don't have any stamps for them. I cut them out, stuck them here and there on the card, then added the embossed Halloween sentiments.
Happy Halloween
Thanks for stopping by.

I used:
Stamps: Sentiments (Stampin'Up); the sugar skulls are handdrawn
Inks: Onyx Black (Versafine); Picked Raspbery, Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn and Wild Honey (Distress Oxide);
Embossing: Stampin'Up
White embosing powder

Das freut mich, das ich inspirieren konnte und ich finde das Ergebnis super. Und noch besser Deine Idee, daraus eine Hallosweenkarte zu machen. Sehr gelungen. Bises
RépondreSupprimerSieht total klasse aus, liebe Rosi!
RépondreSupprimerThe blackout background is perfect for this Halloween card! Such an effective technique... and it doesn't need to be black either, I have used navy and even red to best effect. Thanks for playing with us at Allsorts.
RépondreSupprimerGreat Halloween card! The BO technique worked well for this unique design. It looks awesome but I agree with you...a lot of ink and messy too. All of the bright colors are fun and the sugar skull make it a perfect Halloween card. Thanks for sharing with the Double D, "Halloween Colors" Challenge.
RépondreSupprimerYour card is Faboolous with the blackout technique! And those sugar skull are awesome!
