Katzelkraft - Always look on the bright side of life

Hi everyone!

Today is Katzelkraft day. I played with the Metamorphosis set and made two ATC's. 

As a base, I used a small piece of background I made with the gel press and a leftover from a stamped lace border. I stamped the bugs and light bulbs on bristol paper, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. The moth I stamped on a scrap of homemade background paper, cut it out as well and lightened a few spots of the wings with white gel pen. Added a few mixed media designs from the other new Katzelkraft sets and stuck washi tape on one of the ATC's. Then I adhered the light bulbs, insects and sentiments and backed the ATC's with dark green cardstock.

Today starts the new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

We're closing out the month with a simple, but very effective technique....

Dry Embossing

It was so quick and easy to do that I made two cards right away!

The sentiment on this card is heat embossed with silver and backed with silver cardstock.

For this card, I simply switched the embossed parts. 

I stamped the sentiment with silver ink and glued tiny silver stars on the white area. That was quick, wasn't it!

Katzelkraft - ataraxia

Hi everyone, 

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation. I've been playing with Katzelkraft's new stamp set "Cats on Books", created by Ukrainian designer Liubka.

I tried to make an art journal page, but I think I got a little off track! Eventually it turned into a scene with cats - but.... I used paper scraps! Paper scraps that came from a failed background. I tore off several strips, laid them out loosely, and taped them together to form a branch. 

I stamped the cats, colored them, cut them out and placed them on the branch and page. This first draft was very close to my idea! The background is sponged with Mermaid Lagoon, Mowed Lawn and Rustic Wilderness (Distress Oxide), using a homemade stencil to add some clouds.

In the bottom section, I stamped the plants and flowers from the cat set and colored them with alcohol markers. I also used stamps from two other new sets (see below). Stamped the fence-like pattern in front of the flowers and plants. There was also the one with the spots that I used for the path at the very bottom, but at the last moment some super washi tape got in the way, so you can't see much of it now. On the right edge I stuck a print that looks like a wall. Finally, I split the meaning of the term atataxia into individual words and assigned each cat a happy state.

Hi everyone!

Ready for another 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge? The theme of this week is

Vintage Christmas

The woven background is made of various strips of silver and white glitter cardstock, metallic silver cardstock, wrapping paper as well as vellum and ribbons. Thanks for the idea, Barbara!

Santa and sentiment are embossed in silver. I stamped silver stars around the woven background and dabbed the edge of the card with silver as well. Santa is fixed with foam pads.

With this card I also want to join Isa's challenge "Silver and White" - hence all the silver, which gives the card a rather modern look. But Santa and the sentiment are vintage ;)

I hope you like this ATC, a leftover piece of background (gel press) that I put stickers and washi tape on. The bamboo-like framing is a stamp from Stampin'Up. The ATC is backed with black cardstock.

Katzelkraft - Sometimes you learn

Hi everyone, 

I'm back with a new new Katzelkraft creation. 

I had a lot of fun with one of the pabos and two of the new stamp sets. The poor guy had to endure an experiment. I put him between the electric circuit and a light bulb. As you can see, his hair is bristling - which means it worked!! 😁

The background is patterned paper on which I stamped the circuit. Pabo and the light bulb I stamped on Bristol paper. The light bulb I sponged with Distress Oxide, Pabo is colored with alcohol markers. I cut them both out, glued them to the card and I added a strip of washi tape at the bottom. The sentiment is also from the new release.
