Honey Bees

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
Our movie for this month is:

The Beekeeper

Create something with BEES on it

For this ATC, I embossed a sheet of yellow-speckled paper using a hexagon embossing folder.
To add more depth to the honeycomb pattern, I added darker shades of yellow and red to some of the hexagons. On others, I stamped tiny dots. Once I was happy with the result, I tore off a piece and glued it onto the ATC, which I had cut out of the remaining yellow-speckled paper. Outlined the hexagons with a white Posca marker.

I then stamped and colored the bees and the droplets, which actually went quite quickly.
I brushed the bees’ wings with Wink of Stella, though as usual, you can’t see it. Cut everything out with scissors and glued drops and bees to the honeycomb.
Finally, I stamped a few numbers and other elements onto the ATC,
and then added “HONEY BEES” using small alphabet stamps. Hope you like it :)

Hakuna Matata

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at 613 Avenue Create

The theme is Anything Goes w/optional twist: "Lots of leaves".
(create something featuring foliage or paper)

I'm not in the autumn mood yet and wanted something fun for this challenge.
While browsing, I came across this purple cow. It's a leftover from this card I made for a card swap.
First, I brushed the background with Mowed Lawn and Salty Ocean (Distress Oxide). Then I stamped lots of leaves in the area where the cow would later be placed.
I also found a chicken that was already finished and cut out, and placed it on the cow's back. The chicken is looking at an insect that I colored with glitter pens. It shimmers quite nicely, but unfortunately you can't see it in the photo.
Next, I stamped and fussy-cut some flowering plants and tufts of grass and glued them to the bottom—a rather fiddly job, but I like the result.
As a final touch, I added tiny red liquid pearls to the taller blades of grass and then stamped the sentiment.

Hope to see you play along with 613 Avenue Create

Katzelkraft - Ataraxia

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft project.

...and again with flowers!

It's funny. You don't do paper piecing for months, and then you use it twice in a row!
It is the flowers and the tulip leaf for which I have applied this simple but very effective technic. They were a little fussy to cut out, but I think it was worth it.  ....I like the result.
I drew the watering can myself and colored it with watercolor paints. As it seemed a bit massive compared to the flowers, I decided to stamp the text on parchment paper and stick it over the watering can. Right next to it I stamped a grasshopper silhouette from the new Frog and Friends set.
The flower pots and the wall behind the watering can are a very old Katzelkraft stamp, which is no longer on sale. The stenciled background is from the stash.

Katzelkraft - Butterflies

Hi everyone,
Today is Katzelkraft day and I'm back with a new project. This time with a double ATC.

I had the gel print for the background in my stash for a long time, but didn't quite know how to use the large letter pattern. But today I had an idea that I honestly really like!

I simply stamped different images onto the gel print using three Katzelkraft stamp sets:
Metamorphosis, Nature and Flowers (French version) and Flowers & Nature (English version).

Jazzed up a few spots with white gel pel.
Cut it in half and sponged the edges with Black Soot (Distress Oxide).

Hope you like them. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Katzelkraft - Always look on the bright side of life

Hi everyone!
Today is Katzelkraft day. I played with the Metamorphosis set and made two ATC's.

As a base, I used a small piece of background I made with the gel press and a leftover from a stamped lace border. I stamped the bugs and light bulbs on bristol paper, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. The moth I stamped on a scrap of homemade background paper, cut it out as well and lightened a few spots of the wings with white gel pen. Added a few mixed media designs from the other new Katzelkraft sets and stuck washi tape on one of the ATC's. Then I adhered the light bulbs, insects and sentiments and backed the ATC's with dark green cardstock.

Hope you like them! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)
