Hi everyone!

Today I did something that is completely new for me...

.... here is my very first Art Journal page!

I'm joining in on Tag along with Isa with this, 

because it's actually thanks to her that I tried my hand at it. - Her challenge was too tempting! 😀

The prompt are: 

Yellow - Circles - large Letters or Numbers.

Since I don't have a real art journal yet, I used an A5 sheet of watercolor paper and folded it in half. 

The background is sponged with Wild Honey (Distress Oxide). 

Letter, number and dot stamps are from Katzelkraft, the circles are very old stamps from Inkadinkado. 

I stamped with Onyx Black (Versafine) and Wild Honey (Distress Oxide). The quote is handwritten.

Just a little reminder about our current challenge at the Dream Factory. 

The movie and theme for this month is

50 First Dates

Valentines Day, Hearts, Love, Wedding, Engagement ...

I got stamps from AALL & Create for Christmas and today I'm using them for the very first time. 

Mostly you see them associated with great and colorful backgrounds. I'm not used to handling so much color yet and I hope I learn to get along with the cute little stamps. For today, I'm going to start simple...

I colored and cut out the piggies and then pasted them onto the grass hill, which is cut out of green cardstock and sponged with some blue Distress Oxide. Doodled a few little flowers, using a white gel pen and a green felt tip pen. 

Stamped a quirky house and a few heart flowers. The clouds are doodled too. Stamped the sentiment and backed the card with a sheet of design paper. Hope you like my first attempt!

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are asking you for

Real Stitching

Long before I discovered stamping, I made lots of embroidered cards. So I had plenty of suitable stuff to make a card with real stitches or even embroidery. 

I used design paper as a background. I pricked the holes for the snowflake and then embroidered the design with thin gold thread. Attached a double bow of white organza ribbon and a added white stripe with a gold embossed sentiment to the bottom edge. The gold borders were an integral part of the card. Hope you like it.

Hi everyone!

Christmas cards are just irresistible to me....

...and sometimes they are a little weird too 😏

It is gazing wide-eyed into the starry winter sky - but please don't ask me what kind of animal it is....

It's a Katzelkraft stamp from the "Les Dodus" set. The swirls are from Katzelkraft too, but no longer available.

I started by stamping the stars (the full are stenciled) and the swirls with Versamark and embossed them with white embossing powder. Sponged the background with 3 different shades of blue (Distress Oxide). So that the white designs came out again, I cleaned them with a paper towel. 

I stamped the animal and Santa with his reindeer. Stamped the animal once more on white paper, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out. Did the same with Santa's sleigh (just the sleigh). I stamped the sentiment and attached the animal and Santa's sleigh. The snow hill at the bottom is a piece of torn and embossed paper.

Hi everyone!

It's Katzelkraft day and I am back with a new inspiration :)

For today's card, I used one of the fun animals from the "Les Australiens" set from the JAB collection.

The background is sponged with Distress Oxides + Inks and then stenciled with slighly darker Distress Oxides. 

Mixed yellow Distress Oxide with a little water, spattered it on the card and let it dry. 

I then stamped the animal and the hat. Stamped the animal again on bristol paper, colored it, cut it out and glued it on. 

The sentiment is stamped with single alphabet stamps.

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

The theme of this week is

Little Town

The small houses are die cut from a background created with Acrylic paints. The trees are die cut from the leftover of a cardboard that I had glittered in places. I cut a piece of white paper in a wavy shape and embossed it. Stamped the sentiment onto a piece of beige cardstock and trimmed it.

I pasted the pieces on and cut the panel a little smaller than the card base. Backed it with beige cardstock and pasted it to the blank card. As a final touch, I added a few shiny stars on top of the already stamped ones.

The sentiment says: Christmas is when the heart comes home.

Katzelkraft - The most wonderful time...

Hi erveryone!

I am back with a new Katzelkraft inspiration.

.....it has been a long time since I last used a ribbon.

For today's card, I used the emboss resiste technique. 

I stamped the snowflakes and embossed them with white powder. Sponged the whole surface with Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon (both Distress Oxide). Stamped some snowflakes with one of the blue inks, and a few text fragments here and there. I sponged the edges with dark blue ink, then wiped the snowflakes with a paper towel to make them appear white again. 

I embossed the white area underneath with an embossing folder. Cut the panel to size and added a dark blue ribbon. Added a light blue ribbon and made a bow. Finally, I pasted the panel to a blank card and added the sentiment using foam pads.

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we want to see

3 Shades of Brown

At first I stamped the Christmas tree in brown. Stamped it again with Versamark and heat embossed it with clear powder. Backed the panel with copper metallic cardstock. 

For the background, I sponged the entire surface with Crumb Cake (SU) and then stenciled stars with Early Espresso (SU as well). The edges I finished directly with the ink pad.

I cut the panel to size and pasted it onto a blank card. Adhered the Christmas tree and glued a small piece of ribbon underneath.

Today starts our 100th challenge at Dream Factory!

We'd like to thank you on the occasion of our 100th challenge with some nice stuff! - Please go to the Challenge Blog, there you will find all the details about the Challenge and what you can win!

This time I made a tag. First I stenciled the hearts and heat embossed them in white. 

Stenciled the big heart in pink, masked it and sponged the rest of the area with blue Distress Oxide. 

Stenciled again some little hearts in darker blue with the firts stencil. Stamped with background stamps here and there and sponged the edges with dark blue and black ink. Used a paper towel to wipe the ink off the stenciled hearts so they would appear white. Added some doodles to the big heart.

I stamped the young couple on plain paper, colored them with watercolor and cut them out. Embossed the sentiment and cut it out as well. Pasted the pieces onto the tag. Hope you like it.
