Ready for a new year of 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenges?
The countdown starts today with our first challenge - a sketch (see below)
I used the sketch upside down because I liked it better that way.
Using a stencil and Distress Oxide ink, I placed trees in the background. I stamped the fir tree, masked it and stamped the deer. Colored both with alcohol markers. Added shadows on the trees with watercolor. Stamped the sentiment. Added white Acylic paint at the bottom and on the fir branches. While the paint was still wet, I sprinkled glitter on top and then let it dry. I trimmed the panel, backed it with black paper and pasted it on a card base.
I was lucky with the light when photographing the card. The shadows created by the unevenly applied acrylic paint add extra depth to the scene. Hope you like this little scene!

;-) Bises

What a wonderful winter/Christmas card, the scenery you created looks so realistic. I like the trees in the background, but the 3D fir tree really steals the spotlight here as it is stunning. I love the layering and the shimmer. I understand that the process of creating it took some time, but the result is absolutely worth it. Thanks for joining the Alphabet challenge.
