We have a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating
Polar Bear Day
International Polar Bear Day is an annual event celebrated every February 27,
to coincide with the time period when polar bear moms and cubs are sleeping in their dens, and to raise awareness about the conservation status of the polar bear. Source
I applied Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire to Atcetate, sprayed it with water and then smooshed it onto the top half of a white Bristol paper.
After it dried, I stamped the mountains and the bear. Stamped the bear a second time on Bristol paper, colored the image and fussy cut the bear, basket and bunny. Stamped the bear's sweater on patterned paper and cut it out.
Glued the pieces on and stamped the sentiment.
To add texture to the scene, I embossed the bottom area and splattered the card with white acrylic paint.
I then cut the panel to size and pasted it to a blank card whose edges I had previously inked with Chipped Sapphire. I added spikes to the bicycle wheels to help them move forward in the snow.... 😄
