Come to the dark side...

Hi everyone!

Just a little reminder about our current challenge at the Dream Factory. 

The movie for this month is

Three Colors: Blue

3 shades of blue, monochrome, water, underwater ....and whatever else comes to mind. 

What is important are the three shades of blue!

(black and white is allowed).

I created the background with a stencil, Tumbled Glass, Peakock Feathers, Mermaid Lagoon and Chipped Sapphire (Distress Oxide). I used a cutter to cut out the areas where you see the bear behind the trees and cut a large slit where you see the bear in front of the trees. Placed the cut out bear in the slot and added a torn piece of designer paper at the bottom. Glued the whole thing on a blank card and stamped the sentiment. I used watercolor for the gray and black accents on the birch trees and the bear's muzzle.

Katzelkraft - Just because ...

Hi everyone, 

I'm back with a new new Katzelkraft creation. 

I've been pushing the background for this card back and forth for a while and lo and behold, today it fit!

Behind Pabo are a few bottles with mysterious elixirs, but the little rabbit still does not seem to be very convinced of Pabo's magic powers, so even the big magic hat can not change much, I think. 

In the sentence I replaced the word mouth with hat ;))

These quirky guys are just too cute and it was so much fun to create a card with one of them! I hope you like it.

The most wonderful time of the year

Hello everyone!

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we ask you to make it clean & simple and on one layer.

I covered the bottom third of a white card with a piece of torn paper and sponged the top with Distress Oxide Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers, Spiced Marmalde and Fossilized Amber. I stamped the fir trees, branches, snowman, bunny and sentiment. Colored the snowman very minimally and added some blue reflections to the snow. Lastly, I splattered some white paint over the whole thing, lightened the two large fir trees with bleach and did a few strokes with Wink of Stella. Hope you like it.

Katzelkraft - Be Unique

Hi everyone!

For today's Katzelkraft project, I used the beautiful Metamorphosis - Butterfly set. I'm sure you've seen them on quite a few creations by now.

I made another mini-tag, because I like them and they're relatively fast to do, 

although this one did keep me busy for a while.... 

For the background I used a gel print. Since it was a bit dark, I lightened it up with some white gesso. I stenciled the numbers, first with white ink, then with Chipped Sapphire and a bit of Black Soot (Distress Oxide).

I stamped flower, moth, bug and sentiment on the tag. Stamped and heat embossed the moth and beetle another time on Bristol Paper. Colored them with metallic watercolors, cut them out and glued them on. Added some dots to the flower and finally dabbed the edges with white ink and attached  the ribbon.

Unfortunately, the metallic shimmer is very difficult to photograph and thus not visible in the photo :(

Hi everyone!

Ready for another 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge? This week we are asking you for

Skiing or Sledding

I stamped the merry fellows on Bristol paper and drew snow hills under their sleds. 

I colored first with watercolors and then in places with alcohol markers to add more color accents. 

Finally, I mixed white acrylic paint with light blue glitter and sprinkled the paint over the card using a fine brush. Once dry, I stamped the sentiment and trees, cut the panel to size and adhered it to a blank card.

Katzelkraft - When life knocks you down ...

Hi everyone!

For today's Katzelkraft  project, I used one of the fun frogs.

It's so hot that I couldn't think of anything but water and relaxation. 

So I put my thoughts together and created this little tag. Hope you like it.

The background is a piece from my gel press stash. 

I die cut the stars, backed them with gold glitter paper and then punched out the star for the hole.

I sponged the lower third with Mermaid Lagoon (Distress Oxide). Stamped the frog on Bristol paper, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out. I drew a lily pad, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out as well. Glued the pieces to the tag and stamped some grasses and background designs. The sentiment is computer generated. The tag measures 10 x 7 cm, just a bit larger than an ATC.
