A wonderful World

Hello everyone!

Today I invite you to the very first Dream Factory Challenge of the year. - You'll see a few things have changed....

For January we've selected the following movie

Operation Arctic

Keywords: Ice, snow, polar bears, snowy landscape, 

Arctic, children playing in the snow

After drawing the scene on several pieces of white cardstock, I cut out each layer, 

colored them in different shades of blue, and glued them on top of each other. 

Added some splatters of blue ink, the moon, golden dots and a sentiment from Katzelkraft. Voilà!!

For this card, I was inspired by a vector image of siberianart on VectorStock.

From now on, you can get inspired by the movie poster, the title

and/or the keywords - Isn't that great?!

Katzelkraft meets DotMCC (Reminder #23 )

Hello everyone!

Today I want to remind you of the current challenge at Day of the Month Card Club, and since today is Tuesday, Katzelkraft is also in the game!!! 

The challenge theme is

National Bird Day

After stamping, I masked the birds and used Distress Oxide and my new stencil to create the background. 

I colored the birds with alcohol markers and added a few ink scribbles on the bottom to create some ground.

If I don't have the right stamp, I do like I did here - I stamp the words on cardstock, cut them to size and stick them on! That's it!!!

Christmas Greetings

Hello everyone!

Today is 52 Christmas Card Throwdown day on my blog. This week we invite you to play with the following colors 

White - Green - Brown

I made a quite simple card. 

Just splattered white ink on a kraft card and then sewed three pieces of patterned paper in the shape of fir trees. Added some die-cut stars as well. The sentiment ist stamped with Early Espresso (Stampin'Up). That's all!

Here you can see better how beautiful the paper of the tree on the far left shimmers.

National Bird Day - DotMCC Challenge #23

Hello everyone!

Time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating

National Bird Day

celebrated on January 5th.

There are several ways to celebrate this day.

-- Pick up a bird identification book. It will help you to learn about species in your area.

-- Enhance the attraction of your backyard. Add feeders, shelter and more. Learn what birds in your area like to eat.

-- Visit an aviary. At a botanical garden, zoo, or nature preserve, you can get a close-up look at some of the more exotic species you've never seen before.

-- Make a card with a bird! 😉

I stamped the bird and masked it, then stamped the branch and masked it as well. I smooshed the lower third with Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon and stenciled sunrays on the upper part.

Using some bleach and a fine brush, I lightened a few spots in the water and underlined them with white gel pen. - I also added two strips of washi tape to the bottom edge.

Branch and bird are colored with alcohol markers. The sentiment is from Stampin'Up.

Katzelkraft - You are amazing

Hello everyone!

It's Tuesday and I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation.

For today, I chose the big-eyed thing from the series "Les Scargots" and made an ATC. 

Actually I wanted to make two ATC's, but then I ran out of time. 😞

I prepared the background with Distress Oxide and then stamped the animal on it - I think it's some kind of octopus. I covered it, stamped the water drops and splashed black ink on the ATC. Used bleach and a fine brush to lighten the water drops and the octopus, then colored everything with alcohol markers. I added a few other stamp impressions here and there. I outlined the sentiment with fine liner and white gel pen, cut it out and glued it on. The ATC is backed with black cardstock.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Hello everyone!

It's Saturday and today I'm here with the very first challenge of the year at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

But before I introduce you to the new challenge, 

I want to wish you a happy and especially healthy New Year, 

with the hope that we can get back to a more normal life soon! 

I'm looking forward to another creative year, which I'll share with you here, and also on social media.

And now for the challenge! 

As you already know by now, at 52CCT every first Saturday of the month starts with a sketch. (see below)

I ended the old year with neutral colors, but the new one starts with an explosion of colors !!! 

...and once again I used a stamp from the "Les Mordants" set by Katzelkraft.

I punched an oval from silver glitter cardstock and backed it with a slightly larger one from vellum. Glued them together, stamped the creature with black Stazon ink and added some highlights with a white gel pen.

I pieced the sentiment together using two stenciled letters and the word "new".  The numbers are die cut from thin fly foam and glued to the black strip. Think it looks not too bad!
