You've got mail!

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory. For the month of November we've selected the following movie

You've got mail!
autumn, Christmas, Thanksgiving, books, love...

...have you ever thought about joining a design team?
We girls from the Dream Factory are looking for new members for the beginning of 2021.
A DT-Call is running during the next two months - read more on the Challenge Blog!

I took it literally and added an image from Whipper Snapper to an envelope.
I colored it with alcohol markers. On the flap of the mailbox I wrote: "you've got m@il".
For the address field I stamped a branch four times and thus marked a rectangle.

... the right corner looks a bit empty - too bad I forgot to put stamps on it before I took the picture!

I hope that I could inspire you and make you want to join in!
Have fun with the challenge!  ...and don't forget to keep an eye on the DT-call! ;)

... Santa checks the naughty list

Hello everyone!
New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are playing with

Red and Green

Here's my card to go with it!

These fun stamps arrived recently and I took the opportunity to ink them up right away!
Masked a bit to get a one layer card and then colored the images with alcohol markers.
Stamped the sentimet on tiny labels and glued them next to Santa.
Finally, I sprized some green ink on the background and colored a black frame around the card.

I hope you like the way I used the colors and hope you have fun with them too!

DotMCC - Challenge #21 - Reminder

Hello everyone!
This month's Day of the Month Card Club Challenge is

Make Your Own Head Day

Make Your Own Head Day is a day of creativity. A day to be an artist of your own!
Now don't be afraid, you do not have to draw or paint your own head, we rather ask you to stimulate it and be creative in some way! - However, it should be a card or another creation made of paper!

As a reminder on our current challenge I made this very simple birthday card.

I'm sure you're wondering now what this card has to do with this special day!
Well, just watch the video....

... do you like it?

Basically this card is very easy to make. You only have to measure and cut the mechanism correctly, the rest is a piece of cake! I followed the instructions of this tutorial and it works perfectly!!
The instructions are in french, but very easy to understand because of the many details and indications.

I smooshed the background of the cover page with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry and stenciled the hearts with the same color. For the inside of my card I stamped different cat and dog images on small squares and glued them on bigger rectangles to get Polaroïd images. Then I stuck the images to the mechanism.
I kept the inside in black and white - the only color spot is the red heart.

As you can see, the whole surprise is hidden in the card,
and that's why I kept the cover page very simple.

I hope I could inspire you! - Have fun, and take good care of yourselves!

Katzelkraft - Now we have the Salad!

Hello everyone!
It's Tuesday and I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation.
Today I had fun with the hilarious dogs from the set "Les Mordants". (see below)

... and to make it even more fun,
I used the German idom "Jetzt haben wir den Salat!" as a sentiment.
Literally translated: "Now we have the Salad!" - which means: "now we have the mess!"
I thought that would go well with the entangled dogs.

I smooshed the background with Distress Oxide inks and improved with some stamps from Scrap Plaisir. Gift stack and dogs are Katzelkraft stamps (links below). I colored them with alcohol markers, cut them fussy and then glued them on. The rope seemed a bit too empty, so I drew little light bulbs, colored them with alcohol markers, cut them fussy and glued them on as well.
To finish I stuck a black strip of paper at the bottom.

Hope you like these hilarious dogs! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Stay safe!!

Make Your Own Head Day - DotMCC Challenge #21

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating the

Make Your Own Head Day
Celebrated on November 28th

This day is very popular in elementary school and in art classes.
Don't worry, you don't have to wreck your brain now. We want to interpret the topic generously and say:
"Just use your imagination and design what comes to mind"!!
But it has to be a card or other paper craft item.

Maybe you now feel like trying out a new technique or working with a technique you have come to love?
Or maybe you would like to try out a very specific card shape
or have wanted to make a very special box for a long time.
Of course you can also take the topic literally and put one or more heads on your work - just like I did

- and if you take it very literally, you can also put your "own head" on paper in some artistic way! ;)

Heads, heads, heads,
that's what I had imagined with this topic...

I pulled out the whole Katzelkraft herd, and since there were still a few places left,
one of the frogs and rats joined them!
To follow the topic, I almost used only their heads and stamped them all around the big sentiment.
Then I colored everything with Aquamarkers and glued the panel first on kraft cardstock and then on a card base.

I'm really very excited to see what you will come up with!!!  - Have fun!!

Also check out the awesome creations of my teamies over at the Challenge Blog
I'm sure you'll be more than impressed!! 😉

Merry Christmouse!

Hello everyone!
New month, new Saturday, new challenge. At 52 Christmas Card Throwdown we always start the month with a sketch.
Here's my card to go with it!

Smooshed the background with some blue Distress Oxide and glued two torn pieces of paper at the bottom to suggest snow. The mouse and the sentiment are from Stampin'Up and the gift stack is a Katzelkraft stamp - I colored them with alcohol markers.
.....and since my first try was a total failure - it happens, but that's part of the game ;) - I simply cut the images fussy and pasted them on the new background. Voilà!

Hope you like this singing Christmouse! - Happy SKETCH-ing!

Katzelkraft - Don't stop believin'

Hello everyone!
It's Tuesday and I'm back with a new Katzelkraft card!
I did a mix of Katzelkraft stamps with a few small Stampin'Up stamps.

I don't know if we will celebrate Christmas this year.
At the moment it seems to be very compromised, but we still hope for it!
One thing is for sure, it will not be like usual!

Well, that doesn't stop me from making Christmas cards...
...because as you can see, these little guys also believe in it!

After stamping and masking the two characters, I smooshed the background with Distress Oxide Salty Ocean and Iced Spruce. Then I put a stencil on it and lightly bleached the open areas with a fine brush and let it dry. I put the stencil on again and sponged the stars very gently with Distress Oxide Wild Honey. Then I colored the two characters with alcohol markers and stamped the small houses, Santa Claus in his sleigh and the sentiment. Finally I put some shadow under the green creature's feet and showed him a way through the snow. Voilà!

Hope you like my little winter scene! - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Stay safe!!

Those who don't believe....

Hello everyone!
It's half time at the Dream Factory, and I want to remind you of our current challenge "Maleficient
Its about fairies, elves, flowers, nature, and of course witches.

Because of the covid, we are once again locked up for a month,
and I don't think we will see the end of the tunnel in the near future!
I take the opportunity to make some cards and here is the one I made today.
I combined the weird snail "Les Scargots" and a sentiment "English Quotes" from Katzelkraft with the beautiful fairy from Sweet Pea.
A bit smooshing and some splatters, and the background was done!
I stamped the images and colored with alcohol markers - the little fairy was stamped a second time and fussy cut.

Hope you like it. - Have Fun and stay safe!!
