Beautiful Blooms

Hi everyone!
I am back with a quick reminder about our current challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club.

Random Acts of Kindness Day

A very simple and quickly made card that doesn't really have much to say.
The flowers are die-cut from patterned paper and glued to black cardstock. - This makes the colors pop!
A strip of washi tape and a strip of white paper - stamped several times with the same sentiment. Hope you like it.

Charlie

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at CAS on Sunday .
The theme is: Boy / Male card and it has to be CAS

This challenge is really well timed because I needed a birthday card for a man this week.

The idea for this card was inspired by a quote from Charlie Chaplin
...and of course Charlie had to be on it too!

Charlie is composed of one of Katzelkraft's Pabos, an umbrella from which I only took the carrying stick, a hat from AALL&Create and a die-cut bow tie from Scrap Plaisir.
Everything is watercolored, cut out and glued together.
I painted him eyebrows, his typical mustache and a few curls of hair.

Oh, there were also his feet! I cut them off and glued them closer together.
I sponged the background in yellow on the left and stamped over it with a stamp from Kaisercraft.
I actually have a stamp for Charlie's quote in English, but the dear man for whom the card was intended is French and not quite so young anymore. So I made small labels in French and glued them on.

I think you've already guessed which quote it is...
"A day without laughter is a day wasted."

Peace on Earth

Hi everyone!
Time for a new challenge at the Dream Factory
The movie for this month is...

Mavka - The Forest Song

This is an Ukrainian movie.
We chose it in honor of this brave country that has been fighting for its freedom for far too long...

You can use anything that lives or grows in the forest for your projects

For today's card, I only used gel print scraps and some scrap paper.
I stamped the animals on various scraps and cut them out. Lightened some parts of the animals with a white pastel pencil, especially on the deer and the fox. The owl's eyes I colored in with glitter gel pen.
On the leaves, I highlighted the veins with a brown crayon. The tree and branch are cut out of scrap paper. The background is also scrap paper. The dragonfly in the bush on the right is stamped on vellum paper.
To make it fit better into the scene, I tore off the sentiment along the lettering.

Have Fun!

Katzelkraft - Ataraxia

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft project.

...and again with flowers!

It's funny. You don't do paper piecing for months, and then you use it twice in a row!
It is the flowers and the tulip leaf for which I have applied this simple but very effective technic. They were a little fussy to cut out, but I think it was worth it.  ....I like the result.
I drew the watering can myself and colored it with watercolor paints. As it seemed a bit massive compared to the flowers, I decided to stamp the text on parchment paper and stick it over the watering can. Right next to it I stamped a grasshopper silhouette from the new Frog and Friends set.
The flower pots and the wall behind the watering can are a very old Katzelkraft stamp, which is no longer on sale. The stenciled background is from the stash.

Beautiful Friendship

Hi everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club
This month we are celebrating

Random Acts of Kindness Day
Random acts of kindness can range from a small compliment
to an inspiring gesture that could be life changing.

The background I made with the negative of a stencil. For the flowers and leaves I used the paper piecing technique. I added a few strokes with an alcohol ink marker and tiny liquid pearls to the flower centers. Stamped the sentiment, and the card was done!

Paper piecing is:
when you use patterned paper to make a stamped image, like in my card above, the flowers and the leaves… you can see, they are not colored, but cut out of patterned paper.
First of all, stamp the image onto a blank card. Stamp the same image(s) onto patterned paper of your choice. All you have to do then is to fussy cut out the image(s). Once cut out, simply stick them directly over the stamped image(s) and color the rest as you like.
You can also watch this video to get an even better idea of this fun technique.

Happy Paper Piecing!! ;))

Katzelkraft - Coucou!

Hi everyone!
It's Katzelkraft day :))
Today's creation shows two funny lizards. They come from one of the eight stamp sets that have recently been released by Katzelkraft. You've probably already seen plenty of them on their webside and on social media!
Katzelkraft also have a Facebook group. There you can see all the great creations of the multiple followers, as well as those of the Design Team members. Sign up, - you'll be amazed at the fabulous creativity of all these people!

Next week is Valentine's Day. - I made a funny ATC for this...

The background for this little scene comes from one of several experiments I did with stamps and colors. I cut it to ATC size and arranged a few leaves. Some of them are stamped, others are cut out and glued on.
I colored the lizard lady with alcohol ink markers, cut it out and glued it behind the banana leaf.
She squints at an attractive lizard boy, which scales I colored with a green glitter pen. - Very shiny but sadly not visible on the photo. The 'coucou!' is from AALL&Create.
