Hi everyone!

A little reminder about our "World Ocean Day" challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club...

A scrap of background paper I made with the gel press was just enough for this tag/bookmark.

I put two of the cute walrus from Stampin'Up on it. Amidst the waves (torn from background paper scraps) three small fish from the same set feel at home. I colored them, as well as the walrus, with alcohol markers. Stamped a sentiment from the same set and then lightly sponged the edges of the tag, using ink straight from the ink pad.

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. 

This week we want to see following colors on your cards

Green + White

My card is very simple. I cut green paper (from a design paper pad) to the appropriate size. Stenciled the moon with white ink. Stamped the fir trees with Tranquil Tide (Stampin'Up) and added white ink splatters to the whole thing. To suggest snow, I glued a narrow strip of torn paper at the bottom. On the far left, I stamped a Katzelkraft sentiment in white and finally, adhered a Santa cut out of foam. Hope you like it!

Katzelkraft - You're Purrrfect!

Hello everyone, 

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation. I've been playing with Katzelkraft's new stamp set "Cats on Books", created by Ukrainian designer Liubka.  

I warned you, tags come to mind more and more often! 😁

I made this one according to the instructions of ISA's Live from last Saturday. In doing so, I replaced the stack of books under the cat with washi tape strips to stick to her challenge. I printed out colored designer paper in black and white to it use as base for the tag and sponged it with Peacock Feathers (Distress Oxide). 

Before adhering the washi tape strips, I stamped the left edge with a background stamp from one of the other new Katzelkraft stamp sets. The cats are colored with alcohol markers, cut out and glued on.

I didn't add a sentiment since there are already some on the washi tape at the bottom.

The Ocean is my home

Hi everyone!

We have a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating 

World Ocean Day

The ocean covers more than 70% of Earth’s surface, and being the largest ecosystem on our planet, it functions as a life support system for all its inhabitants.

World Ocean Day happens on June 8th , but that is not the only day you can dedicate to the ocean and the incredible role it plays in our lives. There are plenty of events that you can take part in throughout the year to support this cause.

We, at DotMCC, have decided to dedicate our new challenge to this day, where we hope many of you will join us!

I made three ACT's that make a nice little underwater scene when placed next to each other.

First, I lightly sponged the three ATC's with Distress Oxide Fired Brick and then stenciled with Chipped Sapphire and Mermaid Lagoon. Next, I colored in some of the stenciled images with colored pencils and alcohol markers (starfish, seashell and winkles). Stamped bubbles with Versamark and embossed them white.

To create the seabed, I added leftover snippets of homemade background paper to the base of the ATC's. I stamped the funny fish and plants (all from the same set) on Bristol paper and embossed them clear. Colored with alcohol markers, cut them out and glued them to the ATC's. I used the very small fish to frame the ATC's.

Ready for a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown? 

This week we have a sketch challenge for you (see below)

The Santa is from Stampin'Up and is colored with alcohol markers. As I wanted to let the beautiful designer paper show through, I backed him with a circle die-cut from light green vellum paper. The placement for the sentiment on the sketch was not quite ideal for my design, so I placed it under Santa. Hope you like it.

Hi erveryone!

Have you already seen the beautiful new butterfly stamps from Katzelkraft? 

There are two new sets with butterflies, moths and beetles - in total there are 15 new sets, solo and background stamps. Check them out, I'm sure you'll want them all! ;)

I used the largest of the butterflies and made it pop with the triple time stamping technique I also used on this Christmas card. The technique is very simple and yet very effective. I colored one area with colored pencils and with Wink of Stella and left everything else in black and white - just added a few spatters of green in the background. Wink of Stella makes the wings look like real but unfortunately the beautiful shimmer is not visible in the photo.

Walk in the forest

Hi everyone!

It's the second half on the Dream Factory and I want to remind you of our current challenge.

The movie for this month is

EPIC

The story takes place almost exclusively in the woods, so I came up with a little "fantasy forest walk."

I used stamps from Katzelkraft and an old digi image (snail and fairy) that I got from a friend years ago. I stamped trees and grass on a on a background I made with the Gel Press and colored only the snail and fairy, the oak leaf and two of the mushrooms with alcohol markers. I blurred the edges of the panel with white ink before adhering it to a blank card. The sentiment is from the same stamp set as the trees. Hope you like it.

Hi everyone!

Ready for another 52 Christmas Card Throwdown challenge?  For the last week of the month we are asking you for 

TRIPLE TIME STAMPING

I created my card after watching this video - the technique is really very easy!

The stamps are from Crafty Individuals. I colored them with inks from stamp pads by picking up the ink with a water brush pen and using it like watercolors. I backed the panels with patterned paper and added a Merry Christmas sentiment from Stampin'Up. Hope you like it!

Katzelkraft - Light Bulbe Moment

Hi everyone, 

I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation. This week I have been playing with new stamps from Katzelkraft. 

For this tag I used the broken light bulb and sentiment from the SWITCH ON THE LIGHT set, the plants from the CATS ON BOOKS set, a texture stamp from the BIDULES AND THINGS set and the grass from the WILD GRASS set. The crackle in the background is from Stampin'Up and the ants are from Artemio.

The base is a background I made with the Gel Press. I stamped the light bulb and the plants and colored them with alcohol markers. I stamped the light bulb a second time on tracing paper, cut out the top, painted the bulb with Wink of Stella and adhered it to the one already stamped. I masked the bulb and plants and stamped the crackle and grass. Lastly I added ants, texture and sentiment.
