You are Speshell

Hi everyone!

Today starts a new challenge at the Day of the Month Card Club
This month we are celebrating

 National Seashell Day

.I'm not entirely happy with today's card because the idea I had in my head didn't turn out well on the card.
Too bad! ... but it's lookable!
I stamped all the images on scraps of gel prints and then cut them out. On some shells I applied Wink of Stella and on others I added metallic watercolor. I pasted the shells and characters on a gel print. Cut it to size and glued it on a slightly larger blank card. The sentiment I stamped with individual letter stamps.

Did you know
that one of the oldest known collection of shells can be traced back to 79 AD in Pompeii in Southern Italy,
with shells from distant places, as far as the Red Sea

Have Fun! ;)

Katzelkraft - Comfortable in your own skin

Hi everyone!
I'm back to show you another fun animal from the new Katzelkraft stamp collection.

He looks like he's fallen into a pot of glitter. - Indeed, I didn't skimp on the stuff! Lol
Sneakers, mane, stripes - I stuck the glitter everywhere!
I also made some super cool sunglasses for the little striped horse!

The background I created with Distress Oxide inks.
I made a big yellow spot and then added triangles of different colors -
...with a homemade stamp, as you can see in the photo.

I added washi tape to the bottom of the card and a few splashes of black ink here and there,
before gluing on the cut-out zebra. I then stamped the sentiment and voilà!

I had actually made a video to show the beautiful sparkle. Unfortunately, I can't get it from my smartphone to my computer. I'm not familiar with the new thing yet - maybe it will work in a few days ;)
Until then, you'll have to make do with this close-up.

Addendum
Finally, I made a video with my old smartphone since I still couldn't upload the video I made with my new smartphone. Damn technology!!!
So here's the sparkling thing, seen through a different angle...

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Oh Happy Day

Hi everyone!
I have the great honor of being this month's guest designer at Once Upon A Time.
The challenge is inspired by a book cover: Up in the Garden and Down in the Dirt (see below)

I was rather drawn to flowers for this card. So I wasn't just inspired by the book cover, but also by my peonies. They are particularly beautiful this year, as are all the flowers and plants this spring. The long period of rain we've had has done them a world of good!
I only used design paper for my card. I cut out two different designs and glued them onto a gel print made with Distress Inks. I added a strip of washi tape to the bottom left. The sentiment is a stamp from Stampin'Up.

I really enjoyed making this card :))
I hope you like it and perhaps you'll find some time to paly along with the Once Upon a Time challenge.

Have Fun!!

I love my pets

Hi everyone!
We are entering the second half of our current challenge at the Dream Factory.

Our Movie:
Pets

From cats and dogs to mice and snakes, our beloved pets are under the spotlight this month!

Isn't she lovely with all her beloved four-legged friends around her?

I placed this cute scene on a piece of designer paper that I photocopied.
Yes, you read me right! I don't like cutting into beautiful papers! - at least not in some of them!
Besides, my printer sometimes makes weird colors, which can turn out to be very interesting. I've already had some nice and not-so-nice surprises! LOL
I highlighted some places with a bit of Crushed Olive and Prize Ribbon (Distress Oxide), then stamped paws and circles on the left. I colored the girl and the two dogs with alcohol ink markers, cut them out and glued them to the ATC. Highlighted a few parts of the dog on the left with a white gel pen.
Finally, I stamped the sentiment, replacing the word cat with pet.

Have Fun!!

Katzelkraft - Stand tall

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft card :))

No big effort today!
I simply stamped the giraffe on a background created with Distress Oxides.
It couldn't be simpler!

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Katzelkraft - The purr-fect crime?

Hi everyone!
I'm back with a new Katzelkraft card! ...showing two more new stamps! :))

I had actually made this background for another card, but in the end I didn't like it at all, at least not for the card it was intended for. For today's card, however, I thought it was super cool! It's a bit dark, but let's assume the little detective is investigating the crime scene at night.

I first painted the black background with gesso, leaving the edges blank.
After the gesso was dry, I placed a small amount of dark blue and yellow acrylic paints on the card. I spread these over the card with the help of an old credit card. On the still wet yellow stripe, I put a little bit of red paint and mixed it with the yellow to get the orange. I let everything dry well and then added splotches of red, white and black paint. - Let it dry again.

I stamped the VespaVespa once on the card and once on Bristol paper. Colored it with alcohol ink markers, cut it out and glued it to the card.
For the detective, on the other hand, I used the paper piecing technique. I stamped the hat and coat on Design paper, the cat on Kraft paper and the shirt on Bristol paper. I then cut everything out and glued the parts back together. Lightened the face, paws and tail with a white pastel crayon. Colored the tie with red. Stamped the detectiv onto the card and added the one I'd paper pieced.
Finally, I added the sentiment which is part of the detective stamp and made a couple of white gel pen lines on the Vespa.

It sounds like a complicated card, but it's not!

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)
