There is no place like home

Hello everyone!

It's half time at the Dream Factory, and I want to remind you of our current challenge "Operation Arctic"

A snowstorm is raging in the Arctic. In the middle of this ice desert stand three children, totally alone. Arrived there by mistake, nobody knows where they are....

The keywords are: Ice, snow, polar bears, snowy landscape, Arctic, children playing in the snow. 

But from now on, you can also get inspired by the movie poster and the title! - Isn't that great?! 

Not often that I do ATCs, but I felt like making something small and that's how these two came out.

The backgrounds of the ATCs are from leftovers. I embossed them two thirds and then glued on the colored and fussy cut subjects. (Stampin'Up and lora bailora) I backed the ATCs with black cardstock and added the sentiments.

Katzelkraft - When nothing goes right...

Hello everyone!

Time flies and we are already back to Tuesday! That means I have a new Katzelkraft creation to show.

I created this little scene using the bunny from the "Les Scargots" collection and the "Les Arbres Silhouettes" background stamp - combined with a quote from the "English Quotes" set and raindrops from the "Les Gouttes D'eau" set. I used Distress Oxide and a stencil to create the background and alcohol markers to color the bunny.

Happy Birthday

Hello everyone!

Last week I was lucky at the Crafter's Cafe. I won a gift voucher from sponsor Scribbles Designs and since Scribbles is celebrating its 8th birthday, I thought it would be fun to join the party.

I created the little scene on the computer using Scribbles digi stamps, printed it out and colored it with alcohol markers. All digis are freebies - only the sheep is one of the ones I got. To mark the special event, I put a flower in its mouth  ....and colored the sentiment in rainbow colors.

I made masks for the sheep and the sentiment, then used stencils and Distress Oxide inks to create the background. - Finished by adding a small strip of washi tape at the bottom. Actually, the card was only supposed to be 8 items - I think I have one too many - it was so much fun creating this scene that I lost count......

Hello everyone!

New Saturday and new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week we are playing with

Metallic Papers 

For the background I chose black cardstock debossed with gold metallic stars. 

The bottom part is made from a piece of recycled corrugated cardstock whose top edge was rounded with a die. 

The fir trees are die cut from self adhesive holographic foil and white cardstock. The sentiment is stamped on watercolor paper, cut to size and attached with staples.

Katzelkraft - Nice People

Hello everyone! 

It's Tuesday and I'm back with a new Katzelkraft creation, for which I used the funny bunny from the "Les Scargots" collection and a quote from the "Adventure Begins" set - combined with texture stamps from Scrap Plaisir.  

This card was not very complicated to do. I stamped some textures with different Distress Oxide inks to create the background. Then stamped the bunny, once on the card and once on white cardstock, colored it with alcohol markers and cut it out with scissors. I added a little "shadow" under the bunny on the card to create some ground before I glued on the cut out bunny.

Hello everyone!

As you know, Saturday is 52Christma Card Throwdown day on my blog. This week we invite you to play with the following topic

Bells

...and I have neither stamp, nor punch for it!!!

But those who know me, know that does not stop me!

First I tried to make the bells - which was actually much easier than I thought at first! 

I punched out three different sized circles, colored them gray, and then cut two small slots in each bell. 

I also stamped small embellishments on each one and glued a string to them for hanging.

So, now that the most important part was done, I could move on to the rest.

I die cut the fir branch from white cardstock and colored it with alcohol markers. - I have a bunch of design paper and colored paper too, but never the one I want! - Do you feel the same way??

It was the same with the background. I designed it myself as well. 

I used the large black ink pad from Stampin'Up and wiped from top to bottom with light pressure over the white paper until I liked the result. Then I made small splotches with white ink and let it dry.

Meanwhile, I made a nice bow and glued it, as well as the bells and the branch to the card. 

Lastly, I stamped the beautiful sentiment from Scrap Plaisir, and adhered the whole thing to a white card base.

Today I invite you to the very first Dream Factory Challenge of the year. - You'll see a few things have changed....

For January we've selected the following movie

Operation Arctic

Keywords: Ice, snow, polar bears, snowy landscape, 

Arctic, children playing in the snow

After drawing the scene on several pieces of white cardstock, I cut out each layer, 

colored them in different shades of blue, and glued them on top of each other. 

Added some splatters of blue ink, the moon, golden dots and a sentiment from Katzelkraft. Voilà!!

For this card, I was inspired by a vector image of siberianart on VectorStock.

From now on, you can get inspired by the movie poster, the title

and/or the keywords - Isn't that great?!
