Hi everyone!
Time for a quick reminder on our current Day of the Month Card Club challenge
We're celebrating
Forest Animal Feeding Day
Forest Animal Feeding Day, observed annually on February 11 in Poland, is a special occasion dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of supporting wildlife during the harsh winter months. Forest animals and birds in Poland have to survive an average of 25 “hunger days” each winter. The term “hunger days” refers to the days when animals can’t procure food because of thick snow and only get a half of their normal daily food ration or even less. To help forest animals survive such days, Polish forestry employees feed them.
I came up with a thank you card as a reminder, because cards like this are always needed. And I also thought that if animals could talk, they would certainly say thank you too.
I drew a straight line along which I stamped the deer, the fox and the bunny, and then placed the hedgehog and the shrub next to the deer. I colored the animals with alcohol ink markers and masked them. I then created the clouds and snow with Mermaid Lagoon (Distress Oxide) and homemade stencils.
I took off the masks and made incisions around the animals' ears and paws. Backed a piece of vellum with patterned paper and glued this to the right edge, lifting the incised parts of the animals so that I could slide the paper underneath. I thought this was nicer than covering their ears and paws.
I then stamped and colored a few apples, cut them out and glued them on. I put one of them in the hedgehog's hands. Finally, I stamped the sentiment, cut it to size and stuck it on.
Thanks for stopping by
Have Fun!!
