Beary Sweet

..... or how to color on dark paper :)

Hello everyone!
We have a new challenge at House of Cards and for the month of March, we are going to color on dark cardstock.
.... don't be afraid, you can also take your usual paper and just use the colors of the palette on our inspiration photo. (see below)

I did not immediately dare to cover a large area and so I simply colored my bears on a small piece of black cardstock, which I then stuck to a white card.

To create a bright background for coloring, I first stamped the shape of the bears on the black area with white pigment ink.
After the prints had dried well, I started coloring the bears and I quickly realized that I had to press the pencils pretty hard to get a good visible color  ..... but it worked well!
After coloring I stamped the outlines and the faces of the bears with black Stazon ink - now they look like Gummy Bears, ha ha! I cut the paper into the right size and stuck it on the card.
Finally I added the sentiment, and three hearts coated with Glossy.

This was also a challenge for me, because coloring on a dark card was really new to me - but finally it was pretty easy, so don't be afraid to try it yourself!

.... and so you can see exactly how to do it, I invite you to watch this little tutorial.

...on the dance floor

Hello everyone!
February is over, but you still have until March 15th to join our current challenge at the Dream Factory!

This month's movie is Grease and you can use the following key words:
Music, Dance, Cars, 50s, High School, Love .....

I did two ATC for this reminder.

This one is made with a Kraftin' Kimmie stamp and colored with Twinmarkers (Alcohol Markers).
It is set on three more layers of paper - turquoise, black and checkerboard.
The background of the image and the checkerboard are colored with black felt-tip pen.
The tiny sentiment is written by hand.

I found this image on internet and copied it by hand. It is also colored with Twinmarkers and has a narrow strip of washi tape at the bottom. It is set on three more layers of paper - black, yellow and checkerboard.

Nice to see you here and I hope to see you also at the Dream Factory 😉

Colorful Christmas Card

Hello everyone!
I do not know what happened today but I needed colors. - It must be said that time is so bad since weeks, that we beginn to need colorful things .....!

I was inspired by Cornelia's card at Muse Christmas Visions - I really flashed on her colorful creations!

I used a Scrap Plaisir stamp for the firs and felt-tip pens for coloring them.
I trimmed the image to a small rectangle and glued a piece of black paper underneath.
I embossed the card, added a tiny sentiment and then stuck the firs.

... and I'm pretty happy with the result!

Thank you for stopping by!

Good old times!

Hello everyone!
We have a new challenge at the Dream Factory! - This month's movie is

GREASE
Music, Dance, Cars, 50s, High School, Love.....

I made a trip to the fifties!

Outfits, cars, music, ....how to have fun --- I just love those years!
.... and I loved making this card!

There is no stamp on this card! The image is a mix of several images (found on Google and Pinterest) that I copied as well as the sentiment (a Dafont font) by hand. The checkerboard which serves as a background is drawn by hand. The sentiment is colored and fussy cut, then fixed with foam pads.
The vinyl is cut from black cardstock and sponged with white ink to evoke a slight glow of light.
I used my alcohol inks for coloring.

Maybe you like the 50's too - I can not wait to see what you're going to do!
See you soon!

Nail Polish Marbling

Hello everyone!
In the last days I had fun trying something new (for me)  -- Nail Polish Marbling!
... I only can show you the finished cards because in my euphoria, I completely forgot to take photos. 😏

Voilà the result!

I used three nail polish for marbling: Copper, pearly pink and turquoise.
The pearly pink is barely visible because it was very transparent, but I must say that for a first try,
I am very satisfied!

.....15 cards for a New Year's card swap!

I really had fun to do this and if you want to try too, look at this tutorial, it explains very well how to do!

Thanks for stopping by!

Meow

Hello everyone!
Hard to believe that January is already over!  ... do not know where time flies!

Today I used stamps from Scrap Plaisir and my Brand New Alcohol Markers that I got from my niece Karola for Christmas!
It's my second try with these markers and I have to say I enjoy it!
Ok, I'm still very timid with them but with more practice I'll get that out for sure!
....Do not look so closely for today 😉

The striped part at the bottom of the card is made with a stencil (Heidi Swapp) that I have moved several times to make some sort of carpet or something similar to it.
Baubles, stars and glasses are embellished with Wink of Stella.

XOXO 💋

Hello everyone!
There is a new challenge at House of Cards and for the month of Love
we have lips and/or pink for you.  (see the inspiration photo below)

Guess how I created this card!

Having no adequate stamps and no special ideas, I thought:
there are lips on the photo - what if I used my lips to create my card??
I did a test on a small piece of paper having previously inked my lips with water-based ink and
......did not find it too bad!
So I went to the full-scale test and kissed my paper several times with different inks - and voilà the result!
.....but imagine the state of my mouth - it looked like I had fallen into a pot of paint! hahaha.
I added a tiny heart in the lower right corner and I wrote XOXO by hand.

Now it's your turn - we look forward to your creations for Valentine's Day!

....some more horses!

Hello everyone!
Just a quick reminder and some more horses for our current challenge at the Dream Factory.

This month's movie is

The Horse Whisperer

I did two ATCs with pictures I found on the net.

Mane, ears, tail and the pattern on his butt are colored with very light pink and the background with light blue watercolor.
I added some leaves in the corners and a very small sentiment.

This horse is colored with brown and yellow watercolor - for the pattern on his head I used orange felt-tip pen.
For the background I used again blue watercolor and then added splashes of black ink.

I also added Wink of Stella but it's so hard to photograph .....you can not see it! 😢
On the white horse, I used it on the mane and the tail and on the other horse only for the orange pattern.

You have two whole weeks left to create something - we look forward to your creations!

See you soon!

Christmas Magic

Hello everyone!
Today I have a little fairy for you!

My little niece offered me the full range of Twinmarkers for Christmas - what a great gift! 😘
...and this is my very first image colored with these alcohol markers!
I added Wink of Stella on wings, stars and Christmas balls and then
I embossed the area around the fairy - just with the pressure of my fingers.
For a first attempt it is not so bad .... what do you think?

Thank you for visiting!
See you soon...

If you love horses...

....this challenge is for you!

Hello everyone!
We have a new challenge at the Dream Factory! - This month's movie is

The Horse Whisperer
Der Pferdeflüsterer
L'Homme qui murmurait à l'oreille des chevaux

Some keywords: Horses, Love, Country Life, Friendship.

I love horses but as strange as it may seem, I have no stamp for this topic!
....hope you are better off than me! 😉
This time, I did not have the patience, nor the time to draw myself and I printed this image that I found on Pinterest.
(See the link at the bottom of this page)
As usual, my printer did not want to print correctly - I had a pink horse ha ha ha
...and I had to retrace the image by hand!
I purposely left the horse without color and
I just added green paper and dry-embossed white paper to give some contrast and texture.

Thanks for stopping by
See ya...

A spiky thing!

Hello everyone!
Today I show you cactus number two - sorry, it took me a little longer than expected.
Finally here he is, the big brother of this one!

This time I worked with felt, it's really a very nice and sweet material!
First I drew a cactus on a sheet to have a pattern. I cut it and then cut in half to get two quarters of cactus pattern. I cut each quarter twice out of felt and sewed them together, leaving the seam exposed. I stuffed the cactus starting with the "arms" and ending with the trunk. Then I cut some flowers that I fixed with round-headed pins. For the needles, I used simple pins.

The "potting soil" for the cactus is also made from felt.
For this, I cut two rings out of brown felt that I left open on one side, so that I could put it around the cactus once sewn and stuffed. The pot is made with cardstock and embellished with washi tape.
I really enjoyed doing it! ... it changes a bit of what I usually do!

I hope you like it
....and promised, I will not bother you with other spiky things! 😂

Hello
.... and Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you had a great New Year's Eve, because as soon as the New Year begins we already have a first challenge for you at House of Cards!

Mixed Medias and/or Stunning colors
this is what we want on your cards this month!
(See our inspiration photo at the bottom)

The year begins with glitter! - My unicorn has some in the mane but impossible to see it on the picture - too bad!
This month it's Mixed Media so I used several things ....and my new Scrap Plaisir stamps!
The rainbow is watercolor, the mane is colored with colored pencils and then Wink of Stella. I also added some silver stars and splashed some black ink on the card ....and after sticking the sentiment ( Life is better with glitter!) and the unicorn I added three more sequins!

A Christmas Wish

Hello everybody!
Two more days and the year bows! You are probably in the preparation for the new year and I wish you right now a wonderful New Year's Eve!
However, I would like to remind you that you still have two weeks to participate in our current challenge at the Dream Factory. - Maybe you want to be a bit quiet after all these festivites and create a little something!

This months movie is

Home Alone
Maman, j'ai raté l'avion
Kevin allein zuhause

I made this card as part of a Christmas gift exchange with my teammates at the Dream Factory. --- (we call that "Weihnachtswichteln --- I don't know if there is an English word for it)!

The upper part of the background is made with a stencil and the floor with a wood pattern stamp. I stamped, cut and embossed the image (Crafter's Companion) in several times and then layered it with Foam pads to get a 3D image. The mouse is from Katzelkraft. I colored with felt-tip pens.

... and here is the actual gift that accompanied the card!

The balloon and the teddy bear are made of felt. I drew, cut and sewed all the pieces by hand and then stuffed them. Before assembling the teddy, I wiped some brown ink on his face and on the rest of his body to give him a livelier look. A small nose and two tiny little eyes made of beads, and he looked really cute!
I removed the glass from the frame and replaced it with a gray, white-stamped cardstock. Now I had the background for the teddy and all I had to do was put him and the balloon in the frame!

The whole set!

The small package contains bar of chocolate 😉

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this post, despite much work for the festivites!
I wish you a splendid and roaring New Year's Eve - let pop the corks and slip gently into the New Year!

Happy New Year!!
Wishing you the very best for 2018!!

Before the year ends

....I'll show you my last Christmas cards and some other creations I made, but which was not allowed to show before Christmas. 😉

Hello everyone!
Today and the coming days I'll show you my last creation from this year.

I made this cactus for my cousin's daughter. I do not know her personally, but we got to know each other through our blogs. During the year I launched an invitation on Facebook, which was to comment my post and then post it on its own profile. - She was one of the party and therefore got a little something from me as promised!

On this cactus you can easily stow pins, whether it is next to the sewing box or on the windowsill - he looks great in any case!

Oh, I almost forgot,
The cactus is knitted, the stones are made of felt and the pot is made of cardboard and decorated with washi tape. .......... the "flesh" of the cactus is made of polystyrene.

Hope you like it....
because tomorrow I'll show you another one! 😊

Hello everyone!

Another Christmas card today .....yes, I must hurry !!!

I stamped some fir trees on black cardstock and then scribbled with a white gel pen over it.  Added some stars and snowflakes too!
I glued the black cardstock to the white card, sat the sentiment and added the ribbon. And voilà a very quick and easy card!

Advent, Advent ein Lichtlein brennt....

Yes, yes, I know, we are already at halftime but you know me, punctuality is not my first quality! - the package arrived on time!   .... and hey, I could not show it before! 😉

Hello everyone!
Today I show you this set that I made for a dear friend. I was inspired by Andrea's beautiful creation

...and here is my own idea.

A small Advent set.

If you remove the lid of this box, four small scented tealights come to light. Everything is nicely decorated and equipped with what you need to light the candles. ....and so that nothing happens during shipping, the box was closed with a nice bow (not visible in the picture)

I also made this card that I think fits quite well.
I used Design paper, vellum and a die-cut. The sentiment is stamped under the vellum. The layers are held together with an eyelet which I also used to fasten the die-cut!

Have a nice day and see you soon!

Enchanted winter tree

Hello everyone!

Today I have a tree for you that is somewhat enchanted by the magic of winter.

I used a dark blue background and heat embossed the tree (Katzelkraft) and the sentiment (Stampin'Up) in white.
I added some stars in Whisper White (Stampin'Up), sponged the edges with dark blue and black ink and mounted it onto a white card.

Have a nice day!

Something different!

Today, I want to show you something that I already did three months ago, and that has nothing to do with cards.

A sewing box...

....filled with some goodies!
I made it for a dear friend who mainly designs cards but sometimes, she also likes sewing beautiful things.

There are two drawers and many spools of thread that are decorative at the same time!
Everything is covered with design paper except the rounded edges of both sides. They are covered with beige fabric which is more flexible than paper.

It was a real challenge for me to work again with cardboard after many years.
My last realization with cardboard goes back to July 2014 - a urn in the shape of a motorcycle!

I hope you like this unexpected creation!
Have a nice day and thank you for having stopped by!
