Cool Yule

Hello everyone!
Today starts a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. This week you can play with the following colors

Rose Pink - Aqua - Metallic Gold

To create this little scene, I had to cut out many parts with scissors!
I used alcohol markers for coloring - for the pink and aqua parts, I experimented with alcohol inks...
From the pink part, I punched out stars and backed it with gold glitter paper.
From the blue "experiment" I cut wavy pieces and pieced them together to make hills, then pasted the fir trees and penguins on top. The background is stamped with tiny stars and got a few of the die cut pink stars.
The sentiment I stamped on vellum and matched it to one of the hills.
This color combo wasn't easy for me, but I like the result! Hope you like it too!

Have Fun!

Books can... - Reminder - DotMCC

Hello everyone!
It's time for a little reminder of our current challenge at Day of the Month Card Club. The theme is

Book Lovers Day

The cutie is all in love with her book, just see how she presses it to her heart!

I drew the little girl (image found on the internet), colored her with alcohol markers and then masked her with an oval. I sponged the background with Distress Oxide Picked Raspberry, then stenciled tiny hearts with the same color. Finally, I added a strip of washi tape under the girl's feet and wrote the sentiment. A quite simple card!

Have Fun with the challenge!

Hier grillt der CHEF

Hello everyone!
My brother in law turned a year older this week. Look what I made for him!

He is a true Bavarian (like me 😁) and he loves to grill! It goes without saying that neither Gemsbart and Sepplhut, nor beer and sausage were missing! (Description of Sepplhut and Gemsbart below)

I drew the image and then colored it with alcohol markers. I copied the image to get a mask and used it to sponge the background with Distress Oxide colors. The grass and flowers are stamps from Katzelkraft. The sentiment I put together from embossed words and die cut letters from foam. Voilà, I hope you like it!

Sepplhut: (colloquial) hat often adorned with a Gemsbart, traditional costume hat, worn especially by the male inhabitants of the Alps to the leather pants
Gemsbart: The Gamsbart (also Gämsbart) is a hat ornament belonging to the traditional costume, common in parts of Austria and Old Bavaria for men from Gams-Haaren (tufts of back hair of chamois, which are obtained from the so-called Aalstreif, adult chamois. These hairs are then tied in tufts or fans. The bright tips, the so-called "hoop", are a special eye-catcher).

Katzelkraft - The Adventure Begins

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is my Katzelkraft day. My card for this week is made with the adorable "Les Lapins" stamps from the new release! I couldn't resist making another card with one of them.
Here you can see last week's one.

Mr. Bunny is going on an adventurous boat trip, the only question is how long his paper boat will withstand the waves! 🤔

The background is made with Distress Oxide Mermaid Lagoon. I cut out the bunny and the carrots after coloring and then put them both in the paper boat. On a strip of paper I drew waves, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. The sentiment is embossed, and cut out as well. I just had to glue everything on and the card was done!

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

Cool Chicks Read - DotMCC - Challenge #30

Hello everyone!
Time for a new challenge at Day of the Month Card Club! This month we are celebrating

Book Lovers Day

What could be more relaxing than a good book and a cup of tea! So, grab an interesting read, find a quiet, cozy place, and crack open the cover!
...but in the meantime, please don't forget to craft something for the challenge! 😜

Cool chicks read - Mrs. Ostrich knows that! 😎

After I stenciled the background, I stamped Mrs. Ostrich and colored it. - She got colorful glasses and pink bows in her hair. I drew the books, colored them and cut them out with scissors. At the bottom I pasted washi tape and then right on top of that the stack of books. The sentiment is used like book titles.

"You can not open a book without learning something." Confucius

Have fun with the challenge!

Merry Christmas from owl of us

Hello everyone!
We have a new challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown. We always start the month with a sketch. (See below)

As I said a few weeks ago, I want to use more of my design papers....

I cut a large, 30 x 30 cm sheet into 6 pieces, which makes 6 pieces of 15 x 10 cm. On the design paper I used was written "Merry Christmas" in big curved letters. As you can see, there's not much of it left on the individual parts. For example, on my card, you can only see a little bit of the lettering in the bottom left corner. It looks like a big squiggle, but it fits in nicely.
I die cut three circles from the design paper and marked the openings on the white cardstock underneath. I stamped the owls inside the circles and colored them with alcohol markers. I cut out the overhanging branches with a cutter and unfolded them to adhere the design paper. Then I folded the cut out pieces back in the original direction and glued them on.
I sponged the panel with blue Distress Oxide, put glue dots here and there, sprinkled white glitter on top and let it dry.  (You can still see the original color of the paper in the center)
I trimmed the panel and pasted it to a blank card. Finally, I stamped part of the sentiment into the large circle and the other on a piece of yellow cardstock, added foam pads to it and pasted it in place.

Have Fun!

Katzelkraft - Hutson, ...

Hello everyone!
Tuesday is my Katzelkraft day. This week I used two of the fun "Les Lapins" stamps from the new release!
Those little guys are just too cute! You can see two other card I made with them here and here.
I also used the brand new Whatchamacallit and Number stamps.

Travis wonders if Houston isn't having a little trouble with his math....

I sponged the background with Distress Oxides as usual. I love these inks, they are so easy to work with! I stamped two trees in the background to create depth. I cut the board out of black cardstock and backed it with brown paper. For the easel, I stamped wood patterns on the brown paper to make it look more realistic.
The numbers are stamped with my new white ink - just wonderful how opaque it is!!!
The bunnies I stamped on Bristol, colored them with alcohol markers and cut them out. The carrots were actually stamped on the thought bubble that I had left blank on the card by masking it. Unfortunately, the bubble was a little too big and I had to cut out the carrots and paste them onto a new bubble. This also meant that I had to redo the background! A bit more work, but such things happen, not everything can always be perfect at the first go!

Finally I added the board, the bunnies and the sentiment to the card. To create even more depth, I stamped a few tufts of grass in the foreground.

Hope you like it. - See you next Tuesday with a new Katzelkraft inspiration! ;)

I used:

      KTZ273 numbers rubber stamps

Les Lapins - KTZ271                      Whatchamacallit - KTZ276                      Numbers - KTZ273

Keep your dreams alive!

Hello everyone!
It's half time at the Dream Factory, and I want to remind you of our current challenge
This month we have two movies...

A Perfect World + Black Swan

Keywords:
A Perfect World: Men, boys, father/son, bad boys - in short: Something Masculine
Black Swan: Women, Dancing, Tutu, Ballet - in short: Something Feminine

For my reminder card, I took inspiration from Black Swan - more specifically, from the eye on the poster.
My friend Conny gave me this wonderful Lavinia stamp for my birthday and I have never had the opportunity to use it before. - The beautiful stamp was just a perfect fit here!!!
Sponging, stenciling, pearl pen dots, splatters, Distress Oxide.... are the ingredients for this fascinating look. - I just added the the bloody tear and I'm really happy how this turned out!
The beautiful sentiment as well as the tear are from Katzelkraft.

  AND/OR

As always, you can get inspired by the movie posters, the titles and the keywords!
Either choose the film that appeals to you the most, or do something with both - just as you like it!

Have Fun!
